Timeform View

CELTIC JOHN shaped as if a return to 1¼m will suit when fourth over 1m here last time and might prove the answer to this open handicap. Letsbeatsepsis is feared on the back of a good reappearance, while Fighting Poet and last year's victor Twilight Guest very much know where the winning post is here.

Timeform Comments

Bohemian Breeze (IRE)
Had quite a solid record on turf last summer. Respectable fourth on all-weather and turf this spring and perhaps the addition of blinkers simply backfired when well held at Bath latest. Cheekpieces return now.
Little Tiger
C&D winner but below par on final start last year and has no great record fresh.
Night Bear
Course winner. Twenty one runs since last success in 2024. Respectable fifth of 15 in handicap back on turf at Windsor (1¼m, good to firm, 4/1) 17 days ago.
Masqool (IRE)
Mostly respectable efforts since joining Tony Carroll, including twice reaching the frame back on turf at Windsor (1¼m, good to firm) last month. Cheekpieces off, first-time blinkers and tongue strap on. Enters calculations.
Power Of Prayer (GER)
Won on Dundalk's all-weather last November. Respectable fifth there in December/January. Sold out of Joseph O'Brien's stable for 8,000 gns in February. Unexposed but the betting is perhaps the best guide to expectations for new yard.
Turpin
Modest maiden who has failed to make a significant impact in handicaps at Lingfield (all-weather/turf this spring). Others are more persuasive.
Love You More
Very good return to action when finding only one too good at Nottingham (1m, good to soft) in April and possible excuse for a lesser run at Wolverhampton since.
Letsbeatsepsis
Encouraging third of 11 in handicap (22/1) at Lingfield (7.6f, good to soft) on reappearance 21 days ago. Equally as effective over this trip. Could make a bold bid for a first career success.
Fighting Poet (IRE)
C&D winner. Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap (33/1) at Windsor (1¼m, good to firm) on reappearance 33 days ago. Considered back at venue which suits.
Twilight Guest
Rattled off a hat-trick in 1¼m handicaps last summer, including this race. Hasn't fired in 4 outings this year but well handicapped and a revival isn't ruled out at a track he runs so well.
Foinix
Ended losing run here (1½m) last August but out of sorts under both codes since.
Celtic John (IRE)
Winner at Lingfield in January. Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap at this course (1m, good, 8/1) 11 days ago. Back up in trip. Not taken lightly.
Monks Mead
Has been holding his form well in classified company on the all-weather, winning at Lingfield in January and placed on 3 other occasions. Below par back on turf at Windsor latest, though.
Celebrating Ethel (IRE)
C&D winner. Got the job done in a 7-runner classified event at Wolverhampton (9.5f) in March but has found life tougher since, including only ninth of 11 in 1m course handicap 11 days ago.
