Timeform View

An open-looking sprint in which it could pay to take a chance on PAL JOEY, who was out of his depth over C&D last month and is now 1 lb below his last winning mark down markedly in class. Hi Lord has looked as good as ever here the last twice, so he can give the selection most to think about, with the in-form Canaria Queen rounding off the shortlist.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Tees Aggregates traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Pal Joey
Posted a career-best effort in re-fitted tongue tie when doubling career tally at Newcastle (5f) in January. Down the field in all 3 subsequent starts, never involved in a stronger race than he need contest over C&D (good to firm) last month. Has to be of interest returned to class 5 company.
Tees Aggregates (IRE)
Not the most consistent but turned in just about his best effort of the season when third of 8 at Ripon (5f, good) just under a fortnight ago, deserving extra credit for having to angle around the bulk of the field to make his bid. Needs everything to drop right.
Mount Ruapehu (IRE)
Upped his game upon joining this yard, winning 3 times over 6f at Southwell this year. Not so good the last twice (in reapplied cheekpieces on latest) and may well be in the grip of the handicapper for now.
Hi Lord
Bounced back to form to win 12-runner event over C&D in May, just holding on having edged ahead last ½f. Matched that form when a close third over C&D (good) 6 days ago and should give another decent account.
South Parade (IRE)
Opened account for 2025 with success at Thirsk in August. Ended the year on a low-key note, though, and has yet to fire in 4 starts so far this year.
Canaria Queen
Scored at Doncaster second time up this season and doubled her tally for the year at Musselburgh last month. Made it 4 big runs from her last 5 starts when again finding one too strong at Ripon (5f, good to firm) last week and she'd be folly to discount in this vein of form.
Highland Bear (IRE)
Showed something to work on despite still being green returning from 16 months off when seventh of 13 in a maiden over 6f at Southwell in April (6f). Hard to weigh up but is a handicap/turf debutante so has some scope for progress.
