Preference is for NOVAK, who had been given a chance by the handicapper and ran a cracker when second to a thriving rival at Ayr 3 weeks ago. Jet Warrior heads up the dangers should he take his chance (declared at Carlisle on Tuesday), with Pop Star rounding off the shortlist provided he copes with a quick turnaround.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Impressor traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Iris Dancer has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

No Return (IRE)
Dual winner over 6f in Ireland last spring and best effort for present yard when runner-up at Lingfield in January. Hasn't fired in 5 starts since, though.
Pop Star (IRE)
Had struggled for form to start the year, but with tongue strap reapplied he bounced back to winning ways in 10-runner event at Carlisle (5f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Creditable fourth back there on Monday and not out of things if coping with a quick turnaround.
Ingleby Archie (IRE)
Ended 2025 under something of a cloud and not a great deal to shout about in both starts this time around, third of 7 at Catterick (6f, good) on latest.
Impressor (IRE)
C&D winner last September who ran his best race since reappearance when third of 9 over C&D (good) last week. That was still below last autumn's level, but he's weighted to go well should the heavens open.
Jet Warrior
Much improved the last twice, winning 6f handicaps at Ayr and Ripon, having to work much harder to justify short odds last time (carried head high but always holding on). Might not be the most straightforward but has every chance of bringing up the hat-trick. Engaged 6.12 Carlisle Tuesday.
Novak
On a losing sequence but this C&D winner comes here on the back of a good second of 9 at Ayr (7f, good to firm) 3 weeks ago, bumping into a thriving rival. Should remain competitive.
Iris Dancer
A 9-time C&D winner (including this race last year) who figured prominently in the market on first run of the campaign at her favourite venue but didn't run much of a race when sixth of 9 over C&D (good) last week. Blinkers discarded and she needs to bounce back.
