Timeform View

If there's a runner in here with the scope to be much better than their mark it's SPRIGHTLY DANCE, who contested a hot race on debut and is just the sort of lightly-raced 4-y-o her stable excels with. A gelding operation may help Padua this year so he's a threat, with Cavolo Nero also of some interest in more severe headgear.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

The pace doesn’t look like being overly strong here and Padua should still be served best by being ridden prominently: Renewal might not benefit from being ridden as far back as usual for all the gallop is likely to be a reasonable one.

Timeform Comments

Advancing
Landed a gamble on debut for this yard at Wolverhampton in December and showed a good turn of foot to score at Kempton in March. Unable to continue the good work since and jury is out as to whether he's as effective on turf.
Bella Perla (IRE)
Night Of Thunder filly who bagged a third success in 1m handicap at Lingfield and signed off for Simon & Ed Crisford with a very good third of 10 at Southwell (1m) later in November. Never a threat on reappearance a month ago so has something to prove now.
Cavolo Nero
Won twice last season and proved as good as ever when runner-up at Kempton (1m) on return. Did all he could from a poor position upped in trip at Nottingham next time, though not quite so good despite making the frame at Haydock since. Now sports first-time blinkers.
Sprightly Dance (IRE)
Built on her debut promise to readily land the odds in 4-runner novice at Wolverhampton (9.5f) in October. Shade too free when disappointing at Chelmsford but very much type to do better in 2026 and this mark could be lenient.
Carron (IRE)
Three-time winner in 2025 for Charles Hills and, having had excuses first 3 starts for new yard, recorded a game success at Newcastle in March. Below form in Spring Mile at Doncaster and didn't fare much better at Newmarket latest with cheekpieces fitted.
Mythical Guest (IRE)
Is on a long losing run but was placed 7 times in 2025. That hasn't helped his handicap mark and a heavy defeat on reappearance (has gone well fresh in the past) needs casting aside.
Percival (FR)
€520,000 yearling who failed to live up to his price tag in France, winning a maiden only. Well held when last seen 3 months ago and changed hands for 12,000 gns. Significantly down in trip with hood on ahead of British debut.
Padua (IRE)
Free-going sort who showed improved form allowed to stride on when making all over 7f at Haydock last July. However, didn't get away with failing to settle when fourth over that trip on final start a month later. Appeals as the type to benefit from a subsequent gelding operation.
Renewal
Took a big step forward on her handicap debut when second of 12 at Newcastle (1¼m) in October but ran no sort of race on reappearance 10 days ago (1m).
Where's Freddy (IRE)
Registered another July Course victory last summer and best effort since when third of 13 on the Rowley Mile in September. Low-key return to action and this will reveal more.
Gorgeous Mr George (IRE)
Recorded 3 victories at up to 1m at this venue last season and filled runner-up spot on 3 occasions thereafter. Sound reappearance over 7f here in April but off the bridle very early despite going back up to 1m at Newmarket 3 weeks ago.
