RB Leipzig have lost four of their five away games at Freiburg in professional football (also W1). They’ve lost more away games to SC Freiburg than they have against any other side in professional football.

SC Freiburg’s win percentage at home against RB Leipzig is 75% (same as vs. Augsburg) – it isn’t higher against any side they’ve faced on at least four occasions at home in the Bundesliga.

Leipzig are currently enjoying the best Bundesliga season in the club’s history, with 50 points from the first 23 matchdays in 2020/21. Their previous best at this stage was 49 points in their maiden top-flight campaign in 2016/17, when they finished as runners-up.

RB Leipzig came back from a two-goal deficit to win for the first time in the Bundesliga last time out against Gladbach, scoring the winning goal in the 93rd minute (3-2). 

Freiburg have 34 points from the first 23 matchdays this season, which is their second-best return under Christian Streich – they’ve only ever been better off at this stage in 2012/13 (35). Since the introduction of three-points-per-win, SCF have only twice before had more points from the first 23 games of a campaign: in 2010/11 under Robin Dutt (37) and 2012/13 (35).

RB Leipzig have lost each of their last three Bundesliga away games against SC Freiburg. They’ve only suffered as many consecutive BL defeats on the road against FC Bayern (from 2016 to 2018) and have never lost more in a row at any other side.

RB Leipzig have won five consecutive Bundesliga games for the first time since autumn 2019 (6 back then). They’ve conceded just three goals across these five games.

RB Leipzig have kept 11 clean sheets in the Bundesliga in 2020/21 – the first time they’ve managed as many shutouts after 23 matchdays of a season and a joint league high together with Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg (19) are also the only side to have conceded fewer goals than Leipzig (20) this season. Last time out against Gladbach, RBL didn’t allow their opponents any shots in the second half!

Leipzig’s Alexander Sörloth was involved in two goals in a single Bundesliga game for the first time in the 3-2 win against Gladbach on matchday 23 (1 goal, 1 assist) – as many goals as he had a hand in across his first 20 BL games combined!

Freiburg's Jonathan Schmid will equal Franck Ribéry as the Frenchman with the most appearances in Bundesliga history with an appearance against Leipzig. Ribéry played 273 games in the German top flight (86 goals, 92 assists), while Schmid has played 272 appearances currently (34 goals, 34 assists).
