Timeform View

No shortage of pace on paper and this should set up perfectly for EATON ANNE, who looked all about stamina when landing a double over hurdles earlier in his career. Impecunious is expected to go close on second start for a new yard, while Pike Road makes appeal back over a more suitable trip.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Eaton Anne traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on 3 of its last 5 starts: Fairlawn Skipper has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Pike Road
Doubled his tally under a positive ride at Uttoxeter last November and backed that up with a solid fourth at Cheltenham. Again found 2½m on the sharp side on his return at Hereford, and while there's plenty of pace on, he still looks interesting with cheekpieces back on for in-form yard.
Prince De Juilley (FR)
3-time winner who was in a consistent streak of form when only finding a fairly useful type too good at Hereford in early-November and he's likely to feature prominently if returning in similar heart.
The Long Walk (IRE)
Relatively lightly-raced 6-y-o who was outstayed when runner-up over 3¼m at Hereford in early-April. The slightly shorter trip/addition of first-time cheekpieces ought to be in his favour and he's expected to be competitive.
Ebony Warrior (IRE)
Things haven't gone to plan for this dual winner since unseating (when running a fine race) at Worcester last May, but he did shape as though retaining ability when fifth of 8 on return from another absence at Market Rasen on his latest start.
Eaton Anne (IRE)
Winner of back-to-back handicap hurdles in 2024/25, he ran as well as he ever has following another breathing operation when runner-up in a Hexham handicap chase (typically not fluent) last time, and this looks the ideal scenario to make a winning return to hurdles.
Balkardy (FR)
Completely lost his form after winning over 2½m at Ffos Las this time last year and it's hard to gauge his well-being, having unseated early on his return over fences.
Impecunious (IRE)
Quirky sort who travelled smoothly when doubling his tally in a staying handicap at Newton Abbot on final start for Chris Down. Should strip fitter for his recent return/stable debut and is expected to go well in a race that should be run to suit.
Gwash (IRE)
Having gone close over this trip at Uttoxeter in July, he finished last year out of sorts and looked rusty when down the field at Warwick on his reappearance.
Lacrima (FR)
Landed a hat-trick of claiming chases in France last summer/autumn but has shown nothing so far for current connections, latterly in a chase at Stratford on Tuesday.
Fairlawn Skipper
Bumper winner who made a solid start over hurdles on good ground last season, though was probably unsuited by conditions when well held at Kelso in November and shaped as if needing the run on return at Perth.
Peter's Last Deal (FR)
Shaped as though worth a go over this sort of trip when third on hurdle debut at Hereford (2½m) and ought to benefit from the switch to a handicap, having again found 2m too sharp when well beaten on return/qualifying run at Warwick.
