Jennie Candlish looks to hold the key to this with CAPTAIN COOL, the mount of Sean Quinlan, taken to make it 3-3 over fences at the expense of stablemate Classic Maestro. Last month's C&D scorer Newtown Rambler is also likely to go well.

Timeform Comments

Classic Maestro (IRE)
Fine strike rate over hurdles (5-10) and notched third success in this sphere when seeing off 6 rivals over 2½m here in April. One of 2 strong contenders here for Jennie Candlish.
Captain Cool (IRE)
Consistent in handicap hurdles and took very well to chasing last month, landing 17f handicaps at Stratford and Plumpton. Creditable second over hurdles at Southwell on Tuesday. The mount of Sean Quinlan from the stable pair. Leading claims.
Newtown Rambler (IRE)
Has won 2 of 4 starts since joining Adrian Keatley, with a return to 2m serving him well. Made all back chasing over C&D last month and a 4 lb rise seems unlikely to prevent another bold bid.
Itwasfate
Just a maiden chase win in July 2022 to show from his 20 starts for Henry de Bromhead. Has won a point since leaving that yard but others are preferred back under Rules.
Hypotenus
Taunton winner for Joe Tickle in January but hasn't fully fired since. Slightly better signs for new yard when 7 lengths third to Newtown Rambler over C&D (good to soft) 25 days ago but he didn't convince with his finishing effort.
Garde Des Champs (IRE)
Returned to form with a bang sporting this headgear combination for the first time when scoring over C&D last July. Now operating 1 lb below the mark he defied on that occasion and shaped better than the result behind Newton Rambler here last time having been left far too much to do.
