SIR CARNEGIE has returned in excellent heart this spring and provided he takes his chance (declared at Hexham on Saturday), Mickey Bowen's charge can defy a 4 lb rise at the expense of Muskerry Rock, who opened his account in a Wexford hunter last month and has since joined the all-conquering Skelton yard. Buy Some Time and Ira Hayes can fight out minor honours.

Timeform Comments

Neon Diamond (IRE)
Won mares maiden hurdle at Killarney last summer. Showed aptitude for chasing when in the frame in mares novices first 2 starts over fences but let down by jumping next time and failed to stay when upped to 3¼m at Down Royal 8 weeks ago. Returns to 3m but hard to fancy.
Ira Hayes (IRE)
Irish challenger who was most fortunate to come out on top in 12-runner beginners chase at Tramore (2¾m) in April, held when left in front 2 out. Improved when second of 6 in at Market Rasen (3m, good to firm) last month but yard form a slight concern.
Muskerry Rock (IRE)
Dual winning pointer who caused a minor surprise when winning 8-runner hunter chase at Wexford (23f, good to soft) last month. Joined the powerful Skelton yard (£17,000) a fortnight later and he's open to improvement on the back of that significant stable switch.
Wasdell Dundalk (FR)
Plenty of good runs at this course (4-timer winner, also close second in last year's renewal) but went with no promise back hurdling after 8 months off here recently. Reverts to fences with plenty to prove.
Settle Down Jill (IRE)
Novice hurdle winner for Dan Skelton last autumn and got off the mark over fences in 7-runner hunter at Kelso (23f, good) last month, seeming suited by the emphasis on speed on undemanding ground kept to a staying trip. Has moved yards again since.
Inis Oirr (IRE)
Capitalised on a vastly lower mark over C&D under this rider in April and backed that up when second of 6 over C&D (soft) last month. Clearly back in decent heart but upturns in form and/or enthusiasm rarely last long with him.
Buy Some Time (IRE)
Had his finest hour (50/1-win at Punchestown) in spring 2025 and posted another creditable placed effort when second of 11 in handicap hurdle at this course (27f, good to soft) last month. Back chasing for the first time since his debut and would be folly to discount.
Sir Carnegie (IRE)
Back-to-back winner at Newcastle and Kelso in the autumn and built on the promise of his run 24 hrs earlier when resuming winning ways at this track (2½m, soft) last month, suited by emphasis on stamina at a shorter trip. Can go well again in first-time blinkers. Engaged 6.10 Hexham Saturday.
