STIRRUP CUP hasn't had things go his way so far this season, again meeting trouble at Hamilton last time, but he's well worth another chance as he drops back down in grade. Pop Star took advantage of his reduced mark on his latest outing and is feared most, ahead of Harry's Halo.

Timeform Comments

Surprised
Has gone the right way with each of 3 starts for current yard this season, putting in some good late work when third of 12 over C&D (soft) 3 weeks ago. Could still have more to offer for this stable, though shapes as if a return to 7f would suit.
Harry's Halo (IRE)
Didn't fire in 2025 but shaped encouragingly after 5 months off when third of 17 in handicap at Doncaster (5f, good to soft) in March, faring best of those held up. Interesting from below last winning mark and back up to 6f.
Stirrup Cup
C&D winner who hasn't been seen to best effect all 3 starts this season, still placing on the first 2 occasions. Denied a clear run when ninth of 13 at Hamilton 22 days ago and now drops back down in grade. Could be ready to get his head back in front.
Pop Star (IRE)
Had struggled for form to start the year, but with tongue strap reapplied he bounced back to winning ways in 10-runner handicap at this course (5f, good to soft) 10 days ago. Remains well treated on old form so he's not taken lightly.
Baba Reza
Without a win last year but ran well after 12-week break when third at Southwell in October. Wasn't in quite the same form final 2 outings, sixth of 9 at Chelmsford in December, though his best form in recent seasons has come when fresh (has had another breathing operation).
Rich Rhythm
Successful twice over 7f on all-weather early last year and went close back on turf at Doncaster in July. Has run respectably at Newcastle both starts this spring, fifth of 10 on latest outing. Blinkers refitted for rare start at this trip nowadays.
Macedonian (IRE)
Successful on handicap debut at Kempton for Simon & Ed Crisford in March last year. Made the frame twice for current yard later in the campaign but failed to come on for this season's return when last of 8 at Ayr (7f) 19 days ago, though unproven at the trip.
Too Much
All 3 wins on all-weather, with latest success at Newcastle (7f) in March last year. Ran to a similar level on turf when third at Hamilton (5f) in August, before shaping as if needing the run after 8 months off when well held back at Newcastle in April. Usual hood reapplied.
Coconut Bay
3-time winner in 2025 and stepped up on reappearance run when third of 7 at Ayr (7f) in May. Is best when able to lead and can have her lesser effort at Catterick last time excused having been slowly away.
