THE UBERMENSCH arrives in good heart, not seen to best effect when third at Doncaster on his latest outing, and he could be ready to get off the mark this time around. Heading the list of dangers is Inspiring Speeches, who has run well both starts since his reappearance, ahead of Royal Blaze.

Timeform Comments

The Ubermensch (GER)
Has made the frame upped to middle distances last 3 starts, in first-time cheekpieces when third of 6 at Doncaster (1½m) 3 weeks ago, despite having been struck on the nose by the winner's whip inside the final furlong. Major player.
Kitsune Power (IRE)
It's now 2 years since his last success but he made the frame on first 4 outings this year. Not quite in the same form when sixth of 12 at Ripon (1½m) 8 days ago, though no surprise to see him bounce back given his previous consistency.
Glitter Code (IRE)
Still looking for a breakthrough victory but positive start for this stable when runner-up at Beverley (8.5f) in April. Left poorly placed when well held at Wolverhampton (1½m) last time, so he could fare better in a change of headgear (visor back on).
Royal Blaze
Successful twice in 2025, over this C&D in September on second occasion. Needs things to drop his way but has been shaping up well this year, needing a stronger pace to aim at when third of 6 at Hamilton 9 days ago. Enters calculations.
He's Our Cracker (IRE)
Off the mark at Chelmsford (1¼m) in March but hasn't been able to repeat that effort in 3 subsequent outings, too free tried in a hood when sixth of 8 at Southwell (11f) 5 weeks ago. Reverts to cheekpieces with tongue strap added.
Maple
In good form to start the year, placing 3 times on the Flat (twice over this C&D) and also winning over hurdles. Below-par effort returned to the level when sixth of 11 at Beverley (8.5f) last time, but he's not ruled out back at this venue.
Wicklow Way (IRE)
Off the mark in minor event over this C&D in March and wasn't seen to best effect over 1m here on penultimate start. One of better races on turf when third at Beverley 10 days ago and he can give another good account back up in trip.
Langton Wold (IRE)
Modest form in 4 races on the Flat in 2024 but ended that year in good form over jumps, runner-up in 2m handicap chase at Catterick in December. Absent 18 months since ahead of return on the level. Market can guide.
Luan (FR)
Only modest form to date, fitted with tongue strap after 8 months off when ninth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 24 days ago. However, he's bred to be better than what he's shown so far and very good amateur booked for the ride.
Inspiring Speeches (IRE)
Recorded back-to-back wins last summer and has returned to a similar level last 2 starts, third of 10 at Beverley 10 days ago despite an uncharacteristic slow start. Capable of a bold bid.
Ivynator (IRE)
Maiden hurdler who has offered little on the Flat for current yard, returning from 9 months off when tailed off at Hamilton 22 days ago. Cheekpieces reached for.
The Pug (IRE)
Hasn't been the easiest to catch right, but having first run since leaving Micky Hammond he produced best performance of the year when third of 9 in handicap at Chepstow 11 days ago. Task is now to build on latest effort.
Yurinov
Long-standing maiden and never involved after 3 months off when tenth of 12 in handicap at Ripon (1½m) 8 days ago. Others preferred.
Beat The Odds
Little promise in 4 starts so far, faring no better sent handicapping when eighth of 11 at Wolverhampton in May on latest outing.
