Timeform View

KING OF EARTH is a choicely bred sort on an upward curve and may have been let in lightly on handicap debut. The application of cheekpieces could give him an extra edge and he is taken to land the prize for Britain. Punica Granatum was unlucky not to score here last time behind a rival who has since won at Royal Ascot and rates the chief threat, with the unexposed Manton Bay, who shaped better than the bare result at Navan, and Antigua also respected.

Timeform Comments

Listentodwindblow (IRE)
Confirmed previous form when winning 15-runner 1m maiden at Naas 4 days ago, beating newcomer Transcript by ½ length. Few secrets and looks vulnerable under a 7 lb penalty on handicap debut.
Satoyama (GER)
Debut form worked out well and he did his bit when landing 16-runner maiden at Gowran (1m, good to soft, 3/1) last month. Failed to land the odds in small-field minor event at Listowel last time, though, and opening mark demands progress.
Bobby Mcgee
Notched up quick-fire hat-trick in April and May, namely maiden at Gowran and handicap/minor event at Naas. This is much more competitive, though, and improvement is needed if he's to continue his winning run from a mark of 93.
Summer Is Tomorrow (IRE)
Useful juvenile who has failed to kick on this year and looks up against it now tackling a valuable handicap.
Antigua (IRE)
Showed further improvement fitted with blinkers/tongue strap when winning 13-runner maiden at Fairyhouse 23 days ago, making all and beating Noble Honour by 3¼ lengths. Ryan Moore takes over on handicap debut and he could take some pegging back if able to find further progress.
Brownstown
Fairly useful filly who ran well when third of 9 in minor event at Cork (1m, good to soft, 8/1) in April. Shaped like a non-stayer tackling 9.5f at Gowran last time, however, and tongue strap now applied on handicap debut.
How'sthebai (IRE)
Progressive sort who took another step forward when winning 7-runner handicap at Leopardstown 24 days ago. Up 9 lb in a stronger race now, though.
Rolltight (IRE)
Improved again when winning 15-runner 1m maiden at Gowran by ¾ length from Loughrea. Showed good attitude on that occasion and should be suited by the step up in trip. Open to further progress but this looks very competitive. Place claims.
Manton Bay (IRE)
Strong in the betting and shaped well when second of 7 in handicap (9/4) at Navan (1¼m, good to soft) 16 days ago, going through the race as if ahead of his mark. Looks very competitive with slight drop in trip in his favour.
King Of Earth
Well-bred colt that has made a promising start and belatedly got off the mark when edging an 11-runner maiden at Wolverhampton by a nose. Unexposed and wearing first-time cheekpieces, he's high on the shortlist now tackling a handicap, with his opening mark potentially a lenient one.
Stars Will Shine (IRE)
Won 12-runner maiden at Down Royal (7.1f, good to soft) in September. Looked rusty when below form on handicap debut at this course on return. Should be better for that outing but has stamina to prove now upped in trip.
Monvoe (IRE)
Much improved model this year and arrives on the back of 3 wins from his last 4 starts, showing further progress when landing 9-runner handicap at Limerick 18 days ago, beating Earls by ½ length. This represents his stiffest task to date, but he clearly can't be left out of calculations.
Cherry Hill Girl (IRE)
Ran well when 2¾ lengths fourth of 12 to Green Carrera at this course (1m, good to firm) in May and shaped as if still in good heart when third to Bunyola Bay in minor event at Gowran last time. Will need a career best if she's to play a hand in the finish in this company, though.
Sanctijude (IRE)
Fairly useful filly who belatedly got off the mark in a 9-runner maiden at Gowran, having always been well positioned, but this step up in grade demands more. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
Anushka (IRE)
Off the mark at Dundalk (7f) on third start last year. Found it tough in a Leopardstown Group 3 on return but has got back on track in handicaps the last twice, never-nearer third at this course (1m) on latest outing after a slow start.
Punica Granatum (IRE)
Looked unlucky not to win when a short-head second of 12 to Green Carrera in a premier handicap here last month. That winner followed up in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot off a 5 lb higher mark, so she must be of interest off just 3 lb higher herself.
Liberation Date
Back on track despite large odds when 4¼ lengths sixth of 12 to Green Carrera at this course last month. Upped in trip now and 7 lb claimer takes the ride in bid to offset her racing from 3 lb out of the handicap. Engaged 5.35 here Friday.
Ryefield Dasher (IRE)
Time Test colt that showed fair form at best as a juvenile and probably needed the run when well held in 0-80 handicap at Leopardstown on return 24 days ago. Faces a stiff task and races from 3 lb out of the weights.
