Timeform View

A well-backed winner last time, NAKASSAMA may still be ahead of his mark based on his fairly useful Flat form and is fancied to follow up on a track that should suit. Sea The Clouds and Evenwood Sonofagun bring solid course form to the table and are expected to be firmly in the mix for the home team, while the other Irish raiders, Miss Manzor and Butty O Brien, both need a close look in the betting.

Timeform Comments

Sea The Clouds (IRE)
Has 2 wins/close second to his name around this track. Shaped as if still in need of the outing when fifth over C&D last time and strikes as the type who may benefit from more severe headgear (visor replaces cheekpieces). Expected to go well.
Miss Manzor
One-time fairly useful hurdler for Willie Mullins. Hinted that ability remains in 3 starts for Gordon Elliott and she's one to note if supported with Sean Bowen taking over.
It's All About You (IRE)
Landed a cross-code 4 timer in 2024/25, though he failed to meet market expectations on latest hurdle start at Newton Abbot in September and is now fitted with a first-time tongue strap following a lacklustre display on the level at Chester last time.
Nakassama (IRE)
Fairly useful Flat performer who's landed a gamble/finished close second on his most recent hurdle starts in Britain. Again well backed when successful at Downpatrick (2¾m) last time, and while 14 lb higher off his British mark, he's still well treated compared to his Flat form.
Dinons (FR)
Veteran who showed plenty of ability remains when third at Hexham on return and though entitled to some on for that run, he may prove vulnerable to younger legs.
Pyramid Place (IRE)
Headstrong sort hasn't shaped as though a revival is imminent, however, he's 2-2 over C&D (both in 2023) and interesting that Harry Reed prefers him to last-time-out winner Divilabother.
Heart Above
Needed every yard of the trip to capitalise on a drop in grade at Kelso (21f) last time. Record around this track isn't too shabby (hit the frame both starts), but he's yet to win off a mark this high.
Divilabother (IRE)
Saw out the longer trip (23f) well to record a second career/Hexham success last time, though the pair at the head of the market both underperformed, and he's now on a career-high mark.
Feach Amach (IRE)
Travelled strongly to notch a fourth success for her impressive yard at Musselburgh (race with several hurdles omitted). Probably found the race coming soon enough when fourth at Kelso in early-April. She'll need to progress again, but that's not out of the question on the back of a break.
Rauzan (IRE)
Frustrating sort extended a long losing run when below-form sixth of 9 over C&D last time. Did shape with more promise when second behind a subsequent winner at Carlisle in April but Evenwood Sonofagun looks the stable first string.
Evenwood Sonofagun (IRE)
Notched a third C&D win here last month and having nearly made it a quickfire double for the second consecutive season when narrowly pipped over a longer trip (25f) last time, another big run is expected at a track where he clearly excels.
Butty O Brien (IRE)
Below the best of her winning hurdle form but still in good heart when fourth in a Killarney chase last month. Since sold cheaply (€6000) out of the Patrick Magee stable but has joined a capable Irish yard who won this race as part of a notable double on the card 12 months ago.
Secret Secret (IRE)
Dual C&D winner who looked on his way back to form with a couple of creditable efforts here last month and while all his wins have come under softer conditions, he did finish a close fourth on good ground here last summer and notably has Brian Hughes aboard for the first time.
Jack Sprat (IRE)
3-time winner for Jamie Snowden (sold for £12,000) who stepped up on his stable debut when runner-up over fences here on Friday. Not discounted if turned out quickly for yard that has done well with similar recruits (Sea The Clouds/Secret Secret).
