Preference is for FIVEONEFIVE, who has landed the last 3 renewals of this race and is now 2 lb lower than for his success in 2025. He gets the vote ahead of dual C&D winner Winds of Winter, with Nap Hand completing the shortlist starting out for Chris Gordon.

Timeform Comments

Zillow
Completed a cross-code hat-trick in listed handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse in November. However, well beaten in competitive handicaps all 3 completed starts since, including in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham. Drops in grade on first run since leaving Willie Mullins (equipment left off).
Fiveonefive (IRE)
Winner of this race the last 3 years and looks to have been aimed towards this contest again, never dangerous when eighth of 16 in handicap at Ballinrobe (2¾m) last month. Can make a bold bid as he drops back in trip with cheekpieces reapplied.
High Court Cave (IRE)
Second in 20-runner handicap at Galway (2¾m) last summer prior to landing the odds in a Downpatrick maiden (2¼m) in September. Wasn't in quite the same form in 2 starts last month, though, mid-field in handicap at Listowel (2½m) on latest outing. Cheekpieces applied.
Filibustering
Impressive hurdle debut winner last spring and has found the application of a tongue strap getting him firmly back on track, landing handicaps at Newcastle in April and Hexham last month. Below form on the Flat last time, but he's not dismissed lightly back hurdling.
Miss Maverick
Proved better than ever after 10 months off when making all at Uttoxeter (2½m) in May, her fifth course success. However, hasn't been able to repeat that effort in 2 subsequent outings, remote fourth of 8 at Hexham 15 days ago.
Amancio
Won in this sphere and on the Flat upon joining current yard last spring and landed the odds in a Sedgefield novice in November. Only mid-field on handicap hurdle debut next time, but arrives on the back of success on the level at Carlisle 20 days ago. More needed back hurdling.
Banderas (IRE)
Resumed his progress over hurdles when winning a 2½m Hexham handicap last month. Gave a good account on the Flat when 2¾ lengths fifth of 11 at Carlisle (1¾m) 13 days ago and a good pace to aim at promises to suit back hurdling over this trip.
Nap Hand (IRE)
Useful 3-time Flat winner who scored over hurdles in a Stratford novice last summer. Soon left behind a lesser effort this year when runner-up in handicap at Warwick in May, before running well on the Flat last time. Merits consideration on first start since Alan King.
Bittalemon
Won a pair of novice hurdles over this C&D last summer and, with recent run behind her, proved her effectiveness over further when third of 9 in 2¾m handicap here last month. Faces a tougher ask back up in grade.
Winds Of Winter (IRE)
Successful 3 times last year, including twice over this C&D (trained by Iain Jardine on first occasion in May). Looks to have been working her way back to form this season, third of 5 at Hexham 7 days ago, so she can make her presence felt.
Goodwin Face (FR)
Smooth-travelling sort who benefitted from being ridden cold when opening his account in convincing fashion (at the expense of a subsequent winner) in a Plumpton handicap last month. 4 lb out of the weights but could still have more to offer. Engaged 4.58 here Friday.
