Timeform View

BOX CLEVER made a promising reappearance and, likely to get a good tow into things, can bounce back from a below-par effort last time with headgear added. She could be worth chancing. Emery Down is entitled to be in the shake up, with Hamaleel taken to see out the places.

Timeform Comments

Tronido
Comfortably justified support for latest success at Lingfield in May and shaped as if still in form when fourth at Goodwood (7f, soft) 22 days ago. Steps back down in grade but is unlikely to get her own way out in front here.
Dream Illusion
Gained third win of a productive 2026 on the tapeta at Southwell in March and proved at least as good as ever when runner-up at Wetherby (7f, firm) earlier this month. Widest draw doesn't help round here on polytrack debut.
Daisy Roots
Consistent all-weather performer who made frame twice at Lingfield in April. Probably not 100% on turf last time and capable of figuring if back to form returned to polytrack.
Ironist (IRE)
Opened her account in 6f handicap in soft ground at Yarmouth in September and wasn't disgraced on next 3 starts there. Ran below form at Lingfield last time and has a bit of work to do now back on the all-weather.
Brave Byreflection (IRE)
Won 3-runner handicap at Chepstow last summer, but is yet to fire in 3 starts this year, failing to justify market support on latest outing at that course. Plenty to prove tried in first-time cheekpieces and back on all-weather.
Searchingtheblues
Has failed to get her head in front since winning her first 2 starts as a juvenile. Shaped well when close third at Southwell in April but hasn't built on it and a minor role probably best she can hope for.
Trio
Improved for the step up to 1m when landing a Leicester maiden in October. Has proved consistent rather than progressive since sent handicapping and is likely to face competition for the lead from her wide draw.
Box Clever
Landed 7f Salisbury maiden last summer. Resumed from 7 months off with an improved second in handicap at Nottingham (1m) in April. Went backwards from reappearance at Newbury earlier this month but appeals as the type to bounce back in first-time cheekpieces.
Hamaleel
Opened her account in a 1m handicap here in January. Has run some good races in defeat since, finishing second at Lingfield (7f) 25 days ago fitted with first-time blinkers. That form is working out quite well and she has to be on the shortlist.
Something Coming
Ran to a fair level when second in 7f Chelmsford maiden in November before failing to make an impact in a nursery over the same C&D next time. Off 6 months and is best watched on return.
Piazza
Placed twice in maidens last summer. Failed to feature from a stiff-looking mark when last seen in a nursery last August. Free-going filly who has the hood discarded on all-weather debut after a lengthy absence.
Emery Down
Sole success came over C&D. Yet to hit the target in handicaps but she's made a promising start for her current yard, latest when fourth at Carlisle earlier in the month. Eased further in the weights so she makes plenty of appeal.
Mehmas Engine (IRE)
Hasn't built on her promising debut third at Southwell and already looks in danger of being disappointing in relation to her pedigree and price tag. Has left James Tate and is fitted with a first-time hood.
Show Me Gold
Ran to a modest level when runner-up on first 2 starts on the all-weather over the winter. Well held on return/turf debut in maiden at Lingfield (7.6f, heavy) 23 days ago and improvement required now handicapping.
