Timeform View

LORD D'OR brings a strong piece of York form to the table and looks the one to beat, with further progress appealing as likely. Steel Raven showed plenty when third at Carlisle on debut and is also considered, whilst Woheela and Bright Moonlight are interesting newcomers for leading Southern yards.

Timeform Comments

Moral Victory
Bated Breath gelding who could hardly have shown any less when last of 13 in novice at Southwell (1m) on debut 13 days ago,
Fair Isle Sioux
Sioux Nation mare who was off for more than 2 years after her debut and trailed home last of 6 in maiden at Carlisle (1m, good to soft, 250/1) 23 days ago.
Brouhaha (IRE)
€80,000 Coulsty gelding who finished mid-field despite missing the break at Southwell on debut but failed to beat rival having been even less alert from the stalls in a 6-runner Catterick maiden 32 days ago.
Fozzie (IRE)
Took a step back in right direction when fourth of 9 in maiden at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) 15 days ago. One of the more exposed runners here but solid place claims on form.
Lord D'or (GER)
Sixth of 12 in a Kempton novice (7f) on debut last August but left that form well behind returning from 9 months off when second of 7 in novice at York (1m, good) 47 days ago. That is proving strong form and he should have more to offer.
North Force (IRE)
Posted a very good second of 9 in handicap at Beverley (7.4f) in early May but was never going the pace when down the field in a 9-runner Nottingham handicap (8.3f, good to soft) later in the month. Fitting of first-time cheekpieces will need to spark him back to form.
Prince Of Calypso (IRE)
Calyx gelding who shaped with encouragement under hands-and-heels riding when third of 10 in maiden at Haydock (7f, good) on sole juvenile outing and advanced his form despite coming home last of 3 in novice (7/1) at Nottingham (8.3f, soft) 20 days ago. Cheekpieces worn there are discarded.
Steel Raven (IRE)
Supremacy gelding who showed signs of inexperience but finished well from a long way back when third of 12 in novice (28/1) at Carlisle (9f, soft) on debut 22 days ago. Will improve.
Bright Moonlight
Too Darn Hot filly. Dam 2-y-o 5f winner. Noteworthy newcomer for leading connections, though she presumably hasn't been the easiest to train given how long it has taken for her to make the track.
Woheela (IRE)
150,000 gns yearling, Lope De Vega filly. Sister to 7f winner Rajala and half-sister to Italian 7f/1m winner Vento d'Estate. Wears tongue strap. Makes plenty of appeal on paper for leading yard.
