Timeform View

ROSSA RAHEEN did well under the circumstances when runner-up over this C&D in May and, having had excuses next time, she could be ready to get off the mark back here. Fanciulla del West showed improved form when second on her handicap debut at Redcar and is feared most, ahead of Ablon.

Timeform Comments

Morcar
Successful at Lingfield (good to firm) last spring and continued in good heart until unsuited by softer ground on final outing of the campaign. Yet to fully fire this season, sixth of 7 over this C&D last time, but he now gets a drop back in grade.
Kimeko Glory
3-time winner for Brian Toomey last year and good efforts when runner-up on first 2 starts for current yard. Hasn't kicked on since, though, racing keenly with blinkers fitted the last twice. Headgear now discarded and she's only 1 lb above last winning mark.
Harlington (FR)
Made a bright start for current yard, recording a hat-trick on the all-weather in January/February. Respectable efforts in defeat subsequently, including back on turf latest, though the handicapper probably has him about right now.
Ablon (FR)
Good second in a Kempton maiden (1m) in February (winner scored again next time) and got away with the drop to 7f when winning 5-runner novice at the same course later in the month. Should be suited by this far and merits consideration as she goes handicapping.
Perfect Scoundrel
Still looking for a breakthrough victory, but was suited by the drop back from 1½m when third of 8 in handicap at Goodwood (9f) last time. Task is now to build on latest effort.
Brighlee (FR)
Runner-up twice as a 2-y-o but hasn't matched that form in 2 starts this year, fitted with hood when down the field on handicap debut at Sandown (1m) 5 weeks ago. Bred for this longer trip, though others more persuasive at present.
Home Hero (IRE)
Progressive in his 3 outings last year and took another step forward on seasonal/handicap debut at Chester (10.3f) in May. Possibly unsuited by softer ground over the same C&D 20 days ago, so he could fare better with cheekpieces applied.
Rossa Raheen
Upped in trip sent handicapping, showed much improved form when second in 14-runner contest over this C&D in May, despite having been left poorly placed in steadily-run race. Testing ground against her at Salisbury last time, so she's well worth another chance.
Fanciulla Del West
Promise in a trio of novices and took a step forward from reappearance run when second of 8 on handicap debut at Redcar in May, pulling clear of the rest. Respected with more still to offer.
James Choice
Ran to a fair level in 3 starts last year, offering plenty to work on when third of 5 in 7f maiden at Southwell in October (the front pair both showing useful form in handicaps this season). Off 8 months but he's one to note upped in trip for handicap bow.
Madjid
Progressed further switched to handicaps when runner-up at Doncaster in April. Hasn't built on that in 2 subsequent outings, fifth of 7 at the same course last time, but he's been well found in the betting on both occasions. Interesting to see if the support arrives again.
