Won at Thirsk from this mark in May and notably has 2 C&D wins to his name, including this race last year. Likely to make his presence felt in defence of his crown.
Beyond Borders (IRE)
Better at the start when won Wolverhampton handicap in first-time tongue strap in June and then produced a good second of 6 at Ripon 17 days ago despite a 4 lb rise. Still looks well treated on old form and can go well again assuming he doesn't revert to his slow-starting ways.
Eartha
Struggled in all 3 starts last season and has plenty to prove returning from 351 days off.
Acclaimed Freedom
Showed improved form when back sprinting for the first time since his debut, finishing second of 10 in a handicap at Windsor 26 days ago. Has shown a high head carriage but he's one of the least exposed and looks a major player for in-form yard.
Zarinca
Won a maiden at Southwell in April (beating a subsequent winner) but only sixth of 8 in a handicap at Pontefract in June on turf debut, looking possibly unsuited by the track and its gradients. Needs to bounce back but this flatter track should suit.
Charlie Boyo (IRE)
Runner-up on debut at Salisbury last May but off a year following second 2-y-o start and neither outing in 2026 has been promising.
Duskaura (IRE)
Yet to win in 4 runs since joining yard in February, but produced a creditable fourth of 8 at Goodwood 15 days ago. Stable remains in flying form but step up in trip needs to bring about some progress for her to figure here.
Macanudo (IRE)
Recorded sole win in early-2024 and recent return from 14 months off was devoid of promise so he's easy to pass over despite stable's good form.
