Timeform View

BARLEY hasn't been beaten far on his last 3 outings and looks ready to snap a lengthy losing run with no 3-y-os in opposition this time. Jannas Journey should prove a major threat dropped in grade, with The Green Man also shortlisted.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

The Green Man traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Inspired has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP 3 times on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Calyxoh (IRE)
Won at Newbury off 1 lb lower last summer for Charlie Clover but didn't pull up any trees in Meydan earlier this year for Jane Chapple-Hyam and was again below form having changed hands once more for 10,000 gns on debut for this yard at Chester 3 weeks ago.
Jannas Journey (IRE)
Enjoyed a remarkable 2025 when a 7-time winner from 6f to 1m. Produced easily her best effort of the campaign to get in amongst the 3-y-os when fourth of 9 here (7f, good) in May and whilst she made only brief headway at York last time, she's of strong interest dropping markedly in grade.
Bravo Zulu (IRE)
Good second at Redcar in May and was back on track in a change of headgear when sixth of 10 in handicap (18/1) at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) 15 days ago. Equipment is altered again here (cheekpieces off for eyeshields).
Inspired (IRE)
Winner of a Newcastle maiden in December and caught the eye when fourth of 22 at York (7f) in May, coming home best after finding his path blocked more than once. Unable to justify favouritism without obvious excuse on either start since, including back in a big-field York handicap 3 weeks ago.
Benacre (IRE)
Ran well plenty of times in the first few months of the year, including when winning at Newcastle in February, but last 3 outings have been below par and he's opposable despite reduced mark.
The Green Man (IRE)
Recorded three wins at Newcastle last year, the latest in December. Consistent in defeat subsequently on all-weather and quickly back on track after finishing down the field in a big-field handicap at York when fourth of 11 at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Can be in the mix again.
Barley (IRE)
C&D winner who arrives on a lengthy losing run but there have been encouraging signs of late from his much-reduced mark, splitting a pair of unexposed 3-y-os when second of 10 in handicap (15/2) at this C&D (good to firm) 10 days ago. Good chance if in the same form.
