Timeform View

COVERT LEGEND showed promise on his seasonal/stable debut when making the frame at the Curragh last week and he can build on that effort back down in grade. He gets the vote ahead of C&D winner Alpine Sierra, while Valley of Flowers is also capable at this level.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Alpine Sierra traded at a low of 9.00 and Betfair SP of 26.00 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Junkyard Dog (IRE)
Fair Flat winner in Ireland but hasn't offered much encouragement under both codes since joining this yard, well held back on the Flat in handicap over this C&D 25 days ago. Visor now the choice of headgear.
Alpine Sierra (IRE)
Benefited from going back up in trip in May, completing a hat-trick when making all over this C&D. Well held upped in grade for the Cumberland Plate here 10 days ago, but no surprise to see a better showing returned to this level.
Valley Of Flowers (IRE)
Winless since 2023 but has run plenty of good races in defeat since, returning to form this season when second in a Sunday Series event at Thirsk (1½m) in May. Excuses at Catterick (2m) 12 days ago and she's not ruled out, even if she does need things to drop right.
Covert Legend
After 8 months off, shaped well on first outing since leaving Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith when fourth of 14 in handicap at the Curragh 8 days ago, having to pick way through. Irish raider who commands respect with yard going well.
V Twelve (IRE)
Winner of a 13f Hamilton handicap last summer. Doesn't arrive in much form over jumps/on the Flat, tailed off over fences on latest outing in May, but he's now back below his last winning mark in this sphere.
