ONEINTHEWELL can win a handicap at the second attempt for the in-form James Owen yard. Bannister and Lakefield Flyer are others to consider.

Timeform Comments

Bannister (FR)
Course regular whose latest success came here in 2024. Best effort of last year when runner-up in a solid course handicap in September. Has the ability to make an impact dropped into a 0-100, provided he's ready to roll off a 7-month break.
Oneinthewell (IRE)
Leopardstown bumper winner on debut for Thomas Cooper. Best hurdles run when third in Fakenham maiden in January before lesser effort at Catterick the following month. Returns from 5-month break (in change of headgear) with yard going well, and he looks to have an excellent chance at the weights.
Lakefield Flyer (IRE)
Appeared to relish the ground when successful over fences at Stratford (19f, good to firm) 5 days ago. Potentially interesting turned out quickly off appreciably lower hurdle mark.
William Of York
Got a hat-trick up over both hurdles and fences earlier in his career. Has lost his way, and although more prominent in the betting at Southwell last time, he again looked out of sorts (reluctant to start).
Captain Connor (FR)
Modest third in Huntingdon bumper on debut. Showed little in 3 starts over hurdles. Now sent handicapping over a longer trip in first-time cheekpieces, but it's hard to be confident.
Gone In Sixty
Showed no ill-effects from Fakenham fall when second in a steadily-run handicap at Southwell last time. Again weighted to be competitive but overall strike rate (1-38) speaks for itself.
Makinbecon
Off the mark at sixth attempt in a Newton Abbot novice handicap (2¼m) in late-May. Ran at least as well in defeat to finish third there since. He's one of the least exposed runners, and shapes as though well worth a go over 2½m. Tongue strap also added.
Time Was (IRE)
Long-standing maiden under Rules. Couldn't be totally discounted on her C&D second last November. Well below that form in 2 runs here since a break, though.
