It may pay to side with the pair of 3-y-os who won last time out in this amateur's race, with LIEUTENANT SIR taken to get the better of Powernap. Spirit of Applause can also make his presence felt, particularly if the market speaks in his favour.

Timeform Comments

Saucy Jane
Capitalised on a falling mark to gain a first handicap success at Thirsk (6f, good to firm, 11/2) 8 days ago. Has a to carry a 6-lb penalty and her overall profile doesn't make her an obvious follow-up candidate.
Dicko The Legend (IRE)
Successful at Wolverhampton and York last season and was unlucky not to win having met trouble at Southwell in April. Got back on track after some lesser efforts when third at Pontefract last month. Isn't one to discount but requires luck in-running given his slow-starting tendencies.
Spirit Of Applause
Sole success in 2025 came over 5f at Southwell. Has turned in some creditable efforts this season at Beverley and Nottingham, third in 6-runner handicap at latter venue (5f, good, 11/4) 7 days ago. Entitled to go well again, with his strength in the market likely to be the best guide.
Hurt You Never (IRE)
Tasted success 4 times in small-field races over 5f last year but has struggled for consistency since the last of those. Her mark continues to fall but easy to look elsewhere at present.
Donald
Went close in 3-runner novice at Musselburgh on final start last year. However, hasn't been able to improve any further since switched to handicaps this year, the fitting of first-time blinkers at Redcar last time making little difference.
Dorney Lake
C&D winner in April 2025 but not the easiest to catch right since and ran poorly over 7f at Ayr last month. Has the cheekpieces discarded and drops back down in trip but he looks opposable for win purposes.
Koffee And Kale
Showed a good attitude when winning 5f novice at Leicester on final juvenile start and ran well when placed on his first couple of starts this season. In first-time visor, not disgraced when fifth at Newcastle (5f, 15/2) 2 weeks ago. Has the cheekpieces on this time but has a bit to find.
Bayraat
Veteran who capitalised on the drop into a 0-55 when scoring in 9-runner handicap at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) 24 days ago. May prove vulnerable back in this higher grade.
Mister Moet (IRE)
Dual winner on all-weather at Lingfield earlier in the season. Struggled in a much higher grade there when last seen in April. Is back at a more suitable level but may just need this run.
Lieutenant Sir
Made a good return to action when third at Brighton on handicap debut last month before scoring against his elders at Ffos Las (6f, good to firm, 11/1) 10 days ago under a more positive ride. Shoulders a 6-lb penalty and can give another good account now he's up and running.
Powernap
Built on a couple of good efforts to finally open his account by 4¼ lengths in a 6-runner handicap at Catterick (5f, good to soft, 4/5) last month having been well backed. May have more to offer despite a 9 lb rise for that success.
