HAADERR built on his previous promise when winning at Southwell at the third attempt last season and, with his yard going well, he can pick up where he left off to make a successful handicap debut. The chief threat could come from Mudamer, who won twice over C&D last season, ahead of Naval Light.

Mudamer (IRE)
Made all for back-to-back C&D victories in October and has returned in good heart, soon leaving behind a lesser effort when 1¾ lengths sixth of 11 at Doncaster 25 days ago. Regular cheekpieces back on and he can go well again at this venue.
Haaderr
Progressed with each of his 3 starts last year, comfortably winning 11-runner maiden at Southwell in October. Absent since (has been gelded) ahead of handicap debut, but he looks to hold strong claims with better to come this year (holds a couple of big-handicap entries).
Naval Light
Fairly useful form at 2 yrs and didn't need to be at his best when landing the odds in 8-runner maiden at Pontefract (6f) in May. Return to 7f shapes as if it should suit but will need to find more back in handicap company.
Woodstock
Without a win last season but placed 4 times, runner-up over this C&D in October. With this season's return behind him, ran well when making the frame both starts in May, though wasn't able to justify support when sixth of 10 at Thirsk last time. Now switches to a visor.
