Timeform View

RAFFLES NOBU is probably still well treated under a penalty so is taken to follow up last week's Newton Abbot success. There looks to be several credible dangers, most notably Zamond and Scots Poet.

Timeform Comments

Scots Poet
Winner on 3 of his previous 4 completed starts. Shaped as though still in good form (unseated through no fault of his own) when bidding for a hat-trick at Perth 8 days ago. Quick turnaround suggests he's none the worse for that. Should go well again.
Big Gypsy King
Modest 7f Flat winner. Caused something of a surprise (25/1) when successful in race run to suit over C&D last time. Opening mark demands more, however, she's relatively unexposed and represents shrewd local yard.
Zamond (FR)
Only been beaten by a gambled-on rival at Newcastle final run last year. Needed subsequent reappearance before again bumping into one over C&D last time. Building up a solid course record and expected to be in the mix once more.
Raffles Nobu (FR)
Having dropped 35 lb in the weight since his British debut in February 2025, he looked rejuvenated when readily snapping a long losing run at Newton Abbot 7 days ago. Could prove hard to beat under a 7-lb penalty.
Interchangeable
Remains with sole win from 15 starts. Has failed to build on the promise of his Kelso third in April, for all he was given an ill-judged ride at Perth last time.
Assorda (FR)
Fair form when a dual winner in France in early-2025. Very much going the wrong way for current connections. Has undergone another breathing operation since her latest start.
Ambassador (IRE)
Now 9 lb lower than when making the most of an uncontested lead in a lesser race over C&D (1-1) last August. Hinted at a revival in first-time visor at Newton Abbot on latest start in early-June. Interesting if he can build on that.
Mr Globalist (IRE)
Ran his best race since joining current yard when 3¾ lengths third in refitted visor over C&D on Saturday, though his strike rate (0-31 over hurdles/fences) speaks for itself.
