Only a handful of these make any serious appeal in this opening maiden and SHODA is selected to make a winning return for the in-form Joseph O'Brien yard. She'll need to settle better than when last seen but is bred to stay and can get the better of Mr Hollywood, who confirmed himself a smart Flat performer at Royal Ascot and is open to plenty of improvement back hurdling. Al Arrivee, Jeroboam Machin and De Jour En Jour round off the shortlist.

Not long with current yard and showed improved form when second of 14 in valuable series final at Punchestown (19f, good to soft) in April. Bit below that level when third of 15 in maiden at Ballinrobe (2¾m) the following month and now first-time cheekpieces go on.

Mahler gelding who offered little when tailed-off thirteenth of 17 in bumper at Fairyhouse (2m, soft) on debut back in April 2025. Upped markedly in trip for this hurdling debut.
Excessivebehaviour (FR)
Great Pretender gelding who was tongue tied on debut and went with little immediate encouragement when tailed-off tenth of 14 in maiden hurdle at Punchestown (2¾m, soft) back in November.
Frankie's Freebie (IRE)
Has finished runner-up in 4 of his 7 hurdles starts, not seen to best effect in 13-runner event at Roscommon (21f, good) earlier in the month (clear when badly hampered by loose horse approaching sixth). Likely to prove vulnerable to something less exposed.
I Can Find Em (IRE)
€2,000 3-y-o, €21,000 5-y-o, Court Cave gelding. Dam pulled up all 4 starts in points. Runner-up on last 2 of 3 starts in points and the market should offer plenty of clues on Rules debut.
Jeroboam Machin (FR)
Looked top prospect when winning 2 bumpers in 2023/24, including a Grade 2. Showed the benefit of comeback switched to hurdling when fourth of 15 in maiden at Ballinrobe in May but failed to land the odds when third at Cork recently. Remains with potential in first-time cheekpieces/tongue tie.
Killowen House (IRE)
Point winner who matched previous form when third of 13 in maiden hurdle at Roscommon (21f, good) just over 3 weeks ago. Appeals as a likely type for staying handicaps.
Kiltinan (IRE)
€25,000 3-y-o, Buck's Boum gelding. Half-brother to 10.4f winner in Sweden Kawaii Enki. Well-held fourth sole start in points in November but still requires a market check ahead of this switch to Rules.
Minella Post
Placed both bumper starts. Shaped as if in need of the run after 15 months off on handicap bow at Punchestown in April and stepped up plenty on that before falling 2 out at Cork (17f) earlier in the month (tongue tied), likely to have finished second. Now upped in trip.
Mr Erwitt (IRE)
Well held in maidens and pulled up all 3 starts in handicaps. Cheekpieces applied but impossible to fancy back in maiden company.
Mr Hollywood (IRE)
Useful middle-distance performer on the Flat in France/Germany for H-A. Pantall who showed aptitude for hurdling under a considerate ride when third of 8 in Killarney novice in May. Confirmed himself a smart Flat performer at Royal Ascot since so open to plenty of improvement back hurdling.
Ol Parson (IRE)
Showed more than on debut when sixth of 14 in maiden hurdle at Roscommon (2m, good) earlier in the month, probably flattered to finish as close as he did. May progress again upped to a more suitable trip.
Rumi Rock (IRE)
Shaped with a little more encouragement than he had in a bumper when sixth of 13 in maiden at Ballinrobe (17f, good) on hurdles bow 8 days ago. Quickly upped in trip.
Tom Mac (IRE)
Malinas gelding who attracted support and offered something to work on when sixth of 13 in maiden hurdle at Cork (23f, soft) on debut back in April. Unlikely to be of much interest this side of handicaps, though.
Trotters Traders (IRE)
Shirocco gelding who showed nothing when tailed-off sixteenth of 20 in maiden hurdle at Cork (17f, good) on debut earlier in the month. Upped in trip but needs more time.
Trev The Rev (IRE)
Snow Sky gelding who showed nothing when pulled up in juvenile hurdle at Limerick (2m, soft) on debut back in March. Markedly upped in trip but can only be watched.
Al Arrivee (FR)
Dual bumper winner, her latest in 10-runner event at Punchestown (2m, good) early last month. Half-sister to Al Boum Photo so likely to be suited by this sort of trip, she commands respect on hurdling debut. 1 of 2 for this yard.
Shoda (IRE)
Won on the Flat at this Festival in 2024 and added to her tally at Clonmel last October. Mixed bag over hurdles so far, failing to justify support having raced freely at Leopardstown when last seen in March. Upped in trip (bred to stay) but will have to settle much better on return.
Walkingmayotomilan (IRE)
Walk In The Park mare who had been placed in points but showed nothing when tailed-off fourteenth of 16 in maiden hurdle at Naas (19f, heavy) back in January. Upped in trip. RESERVE.
