Timeform View

PEARLY SQUIRREL won here earlier in the year and has largely held her form well since. She looks sure to give it a good go, with a positive jockey booking catching the eye. Between Me And U still looks to be on a handy enough mark to prove a threat following a rise for a recent win, while Tilani could bounce back if his draw does not prove too much of a hindrance.

Timeform Comments

Tilani (IRE)
Won back-to-back handicaps at Newbury and Yarmouth in May before close second at Goodwood in June. Last of 8 as favourite at Doncaster 27 days ago, though firmer going was possibly not to his liking. Poorly drawn but cheekpieces back on and can bounce back if proving himself suited by all-weather.
Volto Di Medusa (IRE)
Won 1m handicap at Lingfield in June but has blown the start 3 times this season. Only seventh of 10 in a handicap at Kempton 22 days ago and is hard to predict with blinkers back on.
King Chaos (IRE)
Won 1½m handicap at Newcastle in January but only seventh of 11 over 1¼m there soon after. Returns from 6 months off with tongue strap and cheekpieces removed and faces a drop in trip so looks best watched.
Portman Blue
Placed in minor events first 2 starts but no progress since and has something to find back up in trip.
Connie Moon (IRE)
Winless in 9 career starts and failed to build on glimmer of promise she'd down in January when only seventh of 10 at Kempton in February. Back down in trip on return from 5 months off.
Cephalus
Hasn't won since October and little promise when tenth of 12 in a handicap over C&D 23 days ago. Seems to be in a lull for now.
The Dark Baron (IRE)
Won over 7f at this course in March and not disgraced when fourth of 10 in a handicap at Lingfield 7 days ago, lacking a turn of foot. Back up in trip which should help and looks one of the more solid options.
Between Me And U
Returned from a 9-month absence in May and improved with each run since, winning a 10-runner handicap at Kempton over 1m 22 days ago. Returns to a C&D where he was previously successful and 3 lb rise looks workable. Should go well once more.
Bun Bang Fai
Some promise when fourth of 12 at Lingfield for Archie Watson in September but failed to settle in blinkers and ran poorly when eighth of 12 at Newcastle when last seen in October. Returns from that 10-month absence with blinkers removed but is hard to fancy starting out for a new yard.
Pearly Squirrel (IRE)
Won at this course in March and looks in form lately, shaping well from too far back when fourth of 8 in a handicap at Chester 20 days ago. Now back up in trip with a positive jockey booking and could play a leading role.
Cy Twombly (IRE)
Very little promise since joining this yard and hard to fancy in first-time visor.
R P Mcmurphy
Twice a winner over C&D but failed to beat a rival last couple of starts, including on return from 5 months off last time so has questions to answer.
Onslow Gardens (IRE)
Maiden after 21 runs but has some placed efforts to his name and showed plenty of ability remains when seventh of 18 in a handicap at Doncaster 46 days ago on final outing for Kevin Frost. Now starts out for a new yard, though, and needs to hit the ground running.
