Timeform View

MATERIAL GIRL offered a bit more than previously when fourth in a strong-looking novice at Leicester last time and she could yet do better switched to this grade. She is preferred ahead of Uncle Sam, who remains lightly raced for his current yard, with Long Shot also considered.

Timeform Comments

Angel Of England
Arrives on a lengthy losing run and form has been in and out of late, third in handicap over this C&D last month before a lesser effort in 7f minor event here 6 days ago, albeit racing away from where the action unfolded.
Asadjumeirah
5-time C&D winner who was third in handicap here in April. However, he hasn't gone on from that effort since, ninth of 16 at Doncaster early last month. Others still more persuasive back down in grade.
Desert Master
Without a win since January last year, but made the frame once more when fourth of 8 in minor event at Nottingham (5f) 2 weeks ago. Could be in the mix back on all-weather.
Drish Samphire (IRE)
Absent 17 months prior to making her stable debut in June and showed more with that run behind her when 2 lengths sixth of 11 in minor event at Leicester 17 days ago. Still looking for a breakthrough victory, though.
Kitaab
Fourteen runs since last win over this C&D in October 2024. However, there have been more encouraging signs last 2 outings, left with too much to do when seventh of 10 in handicap at Chester (7f) 3 weeks ago. Not ruled out making first start at this level.
No News (IRE)
Losing run is mounting up, but back in headgear returned to 6f he stepped forward from reappearance run when second of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton 24 days ago. Needs to be able to back up his latest effort.
Ridgemaster (IRE)
Winner of 7f handicap here in December. Returned to form with placed efforts in May/June, before a lesser run in handicap over this C&D 5 weeks ago. Runner-up at Ayr (7f) only previous start in this grade, though.
Uncle Sam
Placed on several occasions for David Thompson last year, including twice at this course. Runner-up in a Southwell minor event (5f) on seasonal/stable debut, before not ideally placed in handicap at Thirsk last time (6f). Enters calculations.
Blossom In The Air
Little promise in a trio of maidens last year for Dominic Ffrench Davis. However, she's fared better the last twice for current yard, fourth of 9 in minor event at Lingfield (7.6f, good to firm) on latest outing. Blinkers now replace the cheekpieces.
Long Shot
Has made the frame 5 times in handicaps this season, including when going close at Catterick last month. Run of good form halted at Ripon 13 days ago, but no surprise to see him bounce back.
Material Girl
Half-sister to several winners who has had 3 runs in novices so far, fourth of 6 in race won by a useful prospect at Leicester on latest outing. Remains capable of better given a bit more time ahead of first start in this grade.
Realistic Dream (IRE)
Has finished no better than mid-division since joining present stable this year, sixth of 8 in handicap at Hamilton (5f) 15 days ago. Drops in grade but others still preferred.
Runninman (IRE)
Hasn't been able recapture the pick of his juvenile form this year, unable to sustain effort when fourth of 10 in handicap at this course (7f) when last seen in March. First run for yard after leaving Stephen Hanlon.
Tickhill Flyer
Has been held back by slow starts in his 4 races, losing lengths leaving the stalls when sixth of 13 in minor event at Leicester (7f) last month. Now switches to blinkers as he makes all-weather debut.
