Timeform View

SING US A SONG has taken his form up a notch this season, running well when fifth in the Copper Horse at Royal Ascot, and he could be ready to resume winning ways with more still to offer over this distance. Heading the list of dangers is Hopewell Rock, who is worth another chance to build on his Newmarket reappearance effort, ahead of Valedictory.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Hopewell Rock traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 25% or less of Betfair SP twice on 3 of its last 5 starts: Burdett Road has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Tarriance
Successful 3 times in 2025, including the Melrose at York, and returned with a close third in a Group 2 in Saudi Arabia. However, he disappointed at Ascot in May before facing a tough ask in the Yorkshire Cup. Will need to get back on the up off top weight here.
Align The Stars (IRE)
Successful in this race in 2024 and gained a first win since at Kempton (2m) on this season's return. Bounced back from a lesser effort over C&D when landing the Northumberland Plate 5 weeks ago, albeit having the benefit of a good position. Back up to a career-high mark.
Burdett Road
Had a disappointing 2025 on the level and form was mixed during a spell in the Middle East to start the current year. No better than mid-division at Royal Ascot and Newmarket back in Britain the last twice and others are more persuasive.
Hopewell Rock (IRE)
Smart form in handicaps last season without quite managing to get his head in front. Encouraging third at Newmarket (1½m) on return, form boosted by the first 2, but was a beaten favourite at Royal Ascot when sixth of 17 in the Duke of Edinburgh. Remains of interest up in trip.
Stressfree (FR)
Usually reliable performer last year, meeting trouble in this race before making the frame in the Ebor. Reappeared with a good second at Ripon in April but below form both starts since, down the field in the Copper Horse at Royal Ascot on latest outing.
Nesthorn
Dual winner in France who made a successful handicap/stable debut in Bahrain (1¼m) in December. Returned to Britain, has run well at Ascot (1½m) on his last 2 starts, fourth in 8-runner contest 3 weeks ago. Has something to find here, though, as he goes up in trip.
Aeronautic (IRE)
Yet to win a handicap but typically gives his running, including when third in this race last year. After 2 races in Dubai, ran well returning from 4 months off when fourth of 16 in the Copper Horse at Royal Ascot last time. Could be in the mix once more.
Nightime Dancer (IRE)
Highly tried last year and ran well when fourth of 8 on handicap debut at Newmarket in May (Hopewell Rock ahead in third). Rare poor effort at the Royal meeting next time, before not ideally placed back at Ascot 3 weeks ago. Could fare better up in trip.
Sing Us A Song (IRE)
Won twice from 4 starts in handicaps last year and has been shaping up well this season, fifth of 16 in the Copper Horse at Royal Ascot last time (likely to have finished third without late interference). Remains lightly raced over this trip and he's a major player.
Valedictory
Fitted with cheekpieces, gained a first handicap success over this C&D in May and overcame a steady pace to follow up at Newmarket's July Festival. Not taken lightly in his hat-trick bid back at this venue.
Too Soon
Both wins on soft ground at Epsom, producing a career best in first-time cheekpieces when landing the 1½m handicap on Derby Day. However, he's yet to fully convince in 4 starts over this trip, including here on his penultimate start.
Bahadur
Landed a hat-trick on the all-weather at the end of last year and added to his tally in 5-runner handicap at this course (2m) in May. Good fifth in the Northumberland Plate the following month, but lesser run at Newbury 2 weeks ago, albeit meeting trouble.
Small Fry (IRE)
Successful at Chester and Epsom last season for Gary & Josh Moore and, after making the frame in a couple of maiden hurdles for this yard, ran up to his best on the Flat when sixth of 20 in the Ascot Stakes (2½m). Trainer's runners have to be respected.
Incensed
Returned better than ever this season with a pair of placed efforts, third in 1½m listed race here in May (the first 2 successful since). Not discredited in the Copper Horse the following month, before left poorly placed when fifth of 7 back at Ascot 22 days ago.
