Timeform View

The form of BLACK CHIFFON's debut win at Salisbury in October has worked out well so she shades the vote in what could turn out to be a good novice. C&D winner Gavriel is also making his first start of the year and has the profile to do much better, while Colonnade made a promising start when third at Windsor last month.

Timeform Comments

Charlie's Cannon (IRE)
110,000 gns yearling, New Bay gelding. Half-brother to 2-y-o 7f winner Harold Shand. Dam unraced half-sister to high-class winner up to 1m Toormore. Overcame greenness to make a winning debut in good style in novice here (7f) 5 weeks ago. Subsequently sold from Ralph Beckett for 55,000gns.
Gavriel
Frankel colt. Brother to useful 1¼m/11f winner Barn Owl, closely related to smart winner up to 1m Jumbly. Dam Pretty Polly Stakes winner. Left debut behind to win C&D novice 11 months ago, finding plenty to lead on line. Off since but remains open to significant improvement given his profile.
Lunar Tide
70,000 gns foal, Sea The Moon gelding. Half-brother to 7f/1m winner Cavolo Nero. Dam 2-y-o 7.4f winner who stayed 1¼m. Left debut behind to win soft-ground maiden at Gowran in April. Subsequently sold from Joseph Patrick O'Brien for 34,000gns. Looks up against it under a penalty.
Black Chiffon
Night of Thunder filly. Half-sister to 1m winner Man of La Mancha. Dam, 2-y-o 7f winner, half-sister to useful 9f winner Mondego. Debut win in maiden at Salisbury in October has worked out well. Off since but extra 1f will suit so good chance she can defy a penalty.
That's All Folks (IRE)
No form in bumpers/maiden hurdle. Has had breathing operation since last run.
Classy Night (IRE)
68,000 gns yearling, Supremacy gelding. Half-brother to useful 5f/6f winner Vantheman and 5f winner Whisky McGonagall. Dam, 6f winner, half-sister to very smart winner up to 5.4f Hamish McGonagall. Yard 1-5 with 3-y-o newcomers last 12 months.
Colonnade (IRE)
135,000 gns yearling, Teofilo half-brother to 3 winners, including useful winner up to 9.4f Alashar and 7f winner Alanannda. Promising start when third in Windsor novice, not knocked about. Sure to improve so considered.
Kaindy (IRE)
All the better for debut when second to a now very-useful sort in Newcastle novice in November. Off since but can improve again (has been gelded).
Najidi Storm
Frankel colt. Brother to high-class 1¼m-14.5f winner Logician and smart 9f-1¾m winner Collide. Dam 1m/8.3f winner. Interesting newcomer.

Tatafortino (IRE)
€3,500 yearling, Sassofortino gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including useful Italian winner up to 9f Triticum Vulgare and 7f/7.4f winner Just Paul. Dam, maiden (stayed 1½m), out of sister to smart miler Darnay. Yard 0-3 with 3-y-o newcomers last 12 months.
Virtue King
