Timeform View

JUMEIRAH SANDS has shown promise when making the frame both starts in handicaps despite not being seen to best effect, so she could be ready to resume winning ways. Victory Ace isn't taken lightly, though, arriving on the back of his second all-weather success, with Doodling also in the mix.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

The pace doesn’t look like being overly strong here and Piscean Star should still be served best by being ridden prominently: The leaders will have to go harder than the predicted pace forecast if the hold-up horses such as Jumeirah Sands are going to come into things.

Timeform Comments

Jumeirah Sands
Successful over 6f at Southwell on first 2 outings this year and has shaped well both starts in handicaps, again drawn wide when close fourth of 10 at Wolverhampton 22 days ago. Remains with potential as she goes up in trip.
Angel Gabriel (IRE)
Landed the odds in 6f novice at Lingfield in December but yet to improve in 2 handicaps this year, racing too freely when eighth of 11 at Newmarket last month. It still remains early days for him, though.
Captain Fox (IRE)
Confirmed previous promise when making a winning reappearance in a Lingfield novice (1m) in February. Hasn't managed to improve in 2 handicaps since, though, returning from 3 months off when fifth of 12 at Newbury in July.
Piscean Star
C&D winner on debut a year ago and, after a lesser effort at Newmarket, got back on track when runner-up in a Chelmsford novice in September. Off 10 months since (has been gelded), but he's one to note as he goes handicapping with Murphy booked.
Quadrillion
Well-bred filly who was a promising third in 6-runner novice at Newmarket on debut last summer. Hasn't managed to build on that in 2 subsequent outings, returning from 10 months off when sixth of 11 in maiden at Yarmouth in June. Now switches to handicaps.
Blakefell (IRE)
Won 7f maiden at Musselburgh in May on return and has run well in handicaps both outings since, length third of 6 at the same course (9f) 6 weeks ago. Can give his running once more back down in trip.
Victory Ace
Made a successful handicap/seasonal debut at Lingfield (7f) in April and resumed his progress when landing 14-runner contest at Newcastle (1m) 11 days ago. Yard going well and he can make his presence felt with cheekpieces added.
Doodling
Improved from debut when second in 1m novice here on return in April. Got back to a similar level when staying on to win 11-runner novice at Bath (5.7f) in June and this step back up in trip should suit. Merits consideration.
