Timeform View

TOKYO JOE held on from 2 next-time-out winners at Ffos Las in July so looks well treated off just 1 lb higher. Distinct Spirit races off the same mark as when successful at Lingfield last weekend so he's another likely to go well. Invincible Ruby and Farandaway complete the shortlist.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Tokyo Joe traded at more than 5 times Betfair SP and 2 times Betfair SP when winning on 2 of its last 5 starts: Montezin traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Distinct Spirit
Very lightly-raced 6-y-o who is on a hat-trick after small-field wins at Ffos Las and Lingfield (apprentice race) in the last week. Races off the same mark as Lingfield so another prominent showing seems likely.
Farandaway (IRE)
Reliable sort who 6f Newcastle maiden in March and 7f Thirsk handicap (good to firm) in July. Another good run when second of 6 at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) 15 days ago. Ought to go well again.
Montezin
Now 0-5 in handicaps but he has posted some good efforts in competitive races, including latest fifth of 15 over 1m at York.
Criminal Shore (IRE)
Raised his game after a series of unplaced efforts to belatedly get his head back in front in 12-runner event at Newcastle (1m) in June but well held on turf twice since. Others are more persuasive.
Raffles Angel
Successful from 2 lb higher mark over 6f here last summer and arrives on the back of creditable thirds at Nottingham and Newbury (both 6f) in recent months. This is just her second start beyond a sprint trip.
Potomac River
Made steady progress in maiden/novice events last year but has failed to kick on from that in 3 handicap outings this season. Still relatively early days but need to see more.
Evocative Spark (IRE)
Four Catterick wins since last autumn, including 3 this year. Never looked happy after some early scrimmaging when below-form fourth of 6 there latest.
Tokyo Joe
Built on his 2 decent efforts in competitive handicaps at Ascot and York to start 2026 when edging out 2 next-time-out winners at Ffos Las (7.4f, good to firm) 24 days ago. Looks well treated after only a 1 lb nudge.
Invincible Ruby (IRE)
Back to form with a pair of 6f Carlisle wins (both good ground) this summer. Another good run when second of 18 at York (7f, good) 14 days ago. Should be in the mix.
Magic Music
Lightly-raced 4-y-o who got off the mark in 7f Doncaster handicap (good to firm) in June but needs to shrug off a lesser run there since.
Bajan Bandit
Confirmed return to form when second of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 31 days ago. C&D winner and he ought to be competitive from an unchanged mark.
