Timeform View

Lots with chances in a cracking handicap but it could prove worth siding with Hughie Morrison's PREMIERE LIGNE who has steadily returned to form after a long absence and caught the eye when a strong-travelling seventh in the Northumberland Vase last time out. Hat-trick seeking Senor Cortez could emerge as the main danger, although Desert Belle and Believitanducan can play a prominent role too.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Barenboim traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Desert Belle traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP, 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 3 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Believitanducan (IRE)
Successful 3 times over hurdles upon joining Alan King. Has continued in great form on the Flat, landing the hat-trick when digging deep in the 20-runner Northumberland Vase at Newcastle (2m) in June. Well in the mix despite a 5 lb rise.
Scottish Anthem
Useful at best on the Flat but irresolute. Well held over hurdles for new yard this year and tricky to fancy back on the level.
Maxident
Front runner who struck at Ffos Las (1¾m, heavy) in September. Off 9 months but returned with good second of 6 in handicap at Goodwood (2m, soft) in June. Could go well again switched to polytrack.
Senor Cortez (IRE)
Arrives on a hat-trick after landing all-weather handicaps at Southwell (14f) and Lingfield (13f) last month. Up 4 lb but had something in hand last time and can go well again back up in grade.
Rock N Roll Pinkie
A 3-time winner (at up to 2m) in 2025. Had been in good form but finished last of 9 in handicap at York (2m, good to firm) 30 days ago. The sort to bounce back.
Premiere Ligne (FR)
Progressive in 2024. Off 20 months and has steadily come to hand this summer, promising seventh of 20 to Believitanducan in Northumberland Vase at Newcastle (2m) last time when travelling strongly long way. Weighted to go well off a 3 lb lower mark.
Double Meaning
A dual winner (at up to 2m) last summer. Back in good nick this season, fifth of 9 in handicap at Sandown (1¾m, good) last time. Not out of things after a break.
Knight Templar
C&D winner in January. In good form since under both codes (won over hurdles) and resumed from 4 months off with second of 6 in handicap at Sandown (1¾m, good) 17 days ago.
Barenboim
Made all over C&D in January and back to form with third of 9 over C&D last month. Needs to back it up now.
Kingdom Of Stars (FR)
C&D winner for Tom Ward last summer. Underwhelming over hurdles for current yard but back on song with fourth of 9 in handicap at Chester (2m, good to soft) in June.
Killer Whale (IRE)
Fair maiden. Took a step forward on his handicap bow with fourth of 6 at Doncaster (14f, good to firm) in June. Needs to build on it after a break.
Desert Belle
Southwell novice winner in the spring who has improved steadily in handicaps, though she faltered and was collared late on when second in first-time cheekpieces over C&D 5 days ago. Clearly one of the players, although her attitude in a finish is coming under scrutiny.
