Timeform View

VELVET SKIES may be able to go one better than on stable debut last month. Water of Leith is a previous winner of this race and could be worth another chance eased in grade. Ski Angel and White Umbrella are a couple to consider at bigger prices.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Henery Hawk traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Velvet Skies (IRE)
Won a similar event at Navan off this mark last October. Ran one of his best races of the season when second to a subsequent winner on stable debut at Wolverhampton last time. Has solid claims to go one better.
Water Of Leith (IRE)
Winner of this race back in 2022. Latest success came in better race at Wolverhampton in the spring. Never involved back over the minimum trip here on Saturday. Still warrants a second look dropped into a 0-60 for the first time in a while.
Henery Hawk
Multiple all-weather winner. Has placed in successive 3 sprints here, making one of his better starts when close third in this grade (5f) latest. Now 0-24 on turf, though.
Edmond Halley (IRE)
Lightly-raced (fair) maiden in Ireland for Kieran Patrick Cotter. Beaten 4 lengths on return from 12 weeks off at Catterick (5f) last time. Eases in grade on just his second start for yard among the winners.
Head For Freedom
Sole success came on second career start in Beverley claimer last May. Hasn't matched his juvenile form in 4 starts this season. Has been given a chance by the handicapper ahead of his return from 8 weeks off.
Lord Abama (IRE)
Below form since finishing runner-up at Redcar this time last year. Beaten under 4¼ lengths at Thirsk latest. Hard to be confident he's ready to capitalise on falling mark.
Macedonian (IRE)
Continued out of sorts in first-time cheekpieces at Wolverhampton latest. Hopes pinned on the fitting of more severe headgear.
White Umbrella
Completed a Wolverhampton double in this grade last June. Underlined her inconsistency there on latest start. Returns to turf in another change of headgear and isn't totally dismissed off a career-low mark.
Doon The Glen
Better than ever when notching a second 6f Hamilton success of the season last month. Again below that form when down the field here on Saturday, though.
Pivotal Terms
Best form to date (including sole success) has come at Newcastle, though was beaten less than a length in better race on turf at Musselburgh in the spring. Typically took strong hold when well held at Newcastle latest. Claims if first-time hood does the trick.
Monastere
Irish raider who made all in similar company at Fairyhouse (6f) last month. Not in same heart both starts since, slowly into stride at Down Royal latest. Still needs a second look with Jason Hart booked (successful sole previous ride for yard).
Sixcor
Beat a handful of today's rivals when notching a fifth course win over 5f here last month. Wasn't disgraced on a rare all-weather outing at Wolverhampton just 4 days later. Can still be competitive off this mark.
Ski Angel
Free-going C&D winner. Unlucky not to win at Wetherby in June prior to finishing third behind a couple producing their best efforts at this course (5f). Well below form both starts since, however, not discounted if on a going day.
Red Walls
Probably needed the run on return from 5 months off at Wolverhampton latest. Likely to extend his long losing sequence on return to turf, though.
Baby Rover (IRE)
Hit-and-miss performer was back to form when 1¼ lengths third to Doon The Glen at Hamilton last time. Has a bit more on from 1 lb out of the handicap in a better race.
Lanarra (IRE)
Opened her account at Newcastle (6f) in October. Best effort came when third behind subsequent winner over C&D last month. Couldn't match that here on Saturday. Claims on previous form, especially if they go a good pace.
