Timeform View

ALWAYSANANGEL shaped with plenty of promise when third in a Group 2 at Newmarket last month, coming from a poor position and staying on strongly late. The step up to 7f should suit and she is fancied to land this Listed prize. Maire Rua looked above average when overcoming a poor draw to win on debut and rates the biggest threat given her huge potential, while the booking of Ryan Moore for Madam Secretary suggests she may still have more to offer.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Alwaysanangel traded at a low of 8.00 and Betfair SP of 16.31 when losing last time, a race in which it raced behind.

Timeform Comments

Alpine Wedding (IRE)
Improved on debut form (race working out well) whilst still looking a bit rough around the edges when 1¾ lengths third of 9 to Shi Yang in maiden at Curragh in July. Open to further progress but this represents a significant step up in grade.
Alwaysanangel (IRE)
Ready winner of 8-runner minor event at Fairyhouse on debut before improving markedly on that effort when ¾-length third of 8 to Senorita Bonita in Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket 9 days later. Should be suited by this step up to 7f and sets a clear standard dropping into listed company.
Beibhinn (IRE)
Showed a willing attitude when confirming debut promise in maiden at Listowel in May before stepping up again when 2¼ lengths third of 6 to Sun Goddess in Airlie Stud Stakes at the Curragh following month. Operated as a pacemaker last time. Wears first-time cheekpieces now tackling 7f.
Celtic Moon (FR)
Proved much sharper for debut when winning 9-runner maiden at Bellewstown (1m) by 1¼ lengths from Cashel Queen last month. Subsequently unsold for €84,000 in online sale and not seen to best effect when last of 7 in nursery at Galway 15 days ago.
Damsel In Distress (IRE)
Stepped up markedly on debut effort when winning 15-runner extended 7f maiden at Roscommon in June by 1¼ lengths from Sea Of Rain. Open to further progress but this is a stiffer test.
Film Set (USA)
Siyouni filly who shaped as if likely to be suited by this step up in trip when 8½ lengths fifth of 9 to Livenka in maiden at Fairyhouse on debut. Will improve but this represents a big step up and looks the stable third string on jockey bookings.
Madam Secretary (IRE)
Wootton Bassett filly who has been placed on all 3 starts in maidens, chasing home Samnina in maiden at Galway on latest. Ryan Moore takes the ride now stepped up to listed company but has a fair bit to find with the standard-setter.
Maeda Matsu (IRE)
Dubawi Legend filly. Made an encouraging start behind one destined for better things when 3½ lengths second of 11 to Livenka in minor event at Naas on debut. Likely to improve with step up to 7f unlikely to be an issue.
Maire Rua
Frankel filly. Looked an above-average prospect when winning extended 7f maiden at Leopardstown on debut by 2½ lengths from Bellesque. Runner-up has won since and a Moyglare entry suggests that connections think her well capable of stepping into listed/pattern company. Sure to progress.
Nevermindtherain (IRE)
Progressive filly who remains a maiden but took another step forward in first-time cheekpieces when 1¼ lengths third of 6 to Alpha in Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown 22 days ago.
Shi Yang (IRE)
Showed improved form despite large odds when winning 9-runner 7f maiden at the Curragh in July by ½-length from Admired Beauty. This requires another significant step forward, however.
