DOG FOX didn't manage to build on his chasing debut effort in 2 subsequent outings last year, but after a couple of encouraging runs over hurdles he could yet do better back over fences. He is taken to get the better of Ghasham, who has been in good form sent chasing for this stable, while Belle Le Grand is one to note.

Timeform Comments

My Friend Sean (IRE)
Reached a fairly useful level with 5 victories over hurdles. Yet to match that form over fences, though one of better efforts in this sphere when second of 5 in handicap at Uttoxeter (2½m) last time. Task is now to build on latest effort.
Belle Le Grand
Easy winner of mares handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot in May but struggled off a higher mark next 2 starts. On the back of a breathing operation, was given a considerate introduction to chasing when down the field at Uttoxeter (2½m) 20 days ago. Could leave that effort behind.
Dog Fox
Looked the likely winner when unseating 2 out at Kelso on chasing debut in September and while things didn't go to plan in this sphere thereafter, there have been encouraging signs over hurdles on both comeback starts. Well worth another chance back over fences.
Ghasham (IRE)
Didn't kick on over hurdles for Dan Skelton last season but positive start over fences for current yard, runner-up twice before landing the odds at Hexham in June. Third behind a pair of Irish raiders at Cartmel since and he can make his presence felt.
Gower Prince
Not the easiest to catch right, but produced a good effort back over fences on stable debut when runner-up in a C&D handicap in April. Failed to back that up, though when well-beaten second of 3 at Newton Abbot. Off 3 months since.
Clean Getaway (IRE)
Capitalised on a drop in the weights when scoring at Sedgefield in April, his fifth course success. Ran to a similar level when third of 8 at Cartmel on latest outing, though didn't carry much win threat.
Miss Denver
Remains a maiden but fared better than previously when runner-up in handicap chase at Worcester in July. Went a long way to backing that up when filling the same position in 3-runner contest at Newton Abbot 12 days later.
Genbu
Doubled his tally over hurdles in a Uttoxeter handicap (2m) in May and has shaped as if still in good form since, doing too much too soon when fourth of 8 over the same C&D 22 days ago. He's 8 lb out of the weights, though, as he makes chasing debut.
