Timeform View

In keeping with his pedigree, PALLADAS looked every inch a smart prospect when comfortably seeing off a couple of useful opponents starting out at Kempton in January. His subsequent absence is no real concern given connections and he's expected to successfully concede weight all round. Regal Desire is at the other end of the buying spectrum but she has displayed ability both starts, while Assiri Heights could be a different proposition this time.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Palladas traded at a high of 2.96 and Betfair SP of 2.33 when winning last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Palladas
750,000 gns yearling, Lope De Vega colt. Half-brother to 8.5f-1¼m winner Maltese Falcon and winner up to 1¼m Grey Charger. Dam 1m winner who stayed 13f. Looked an exciting prospect when an easy winner on debut at Kempton in January. That form well advertised since and he'll take some stopping.
Cullinan Wolf
Looks a handicap project.
Wats On Tiger
Sent off 500/1 when last of 9 in maiden at Beverley (7.5f, good to firm) on debut 61 days ago, very slowly away.
Assiri Heights (IRE)
Foaled March 24. 700,000 gns Frankel colt. Dam 5f-6f winner out of winning half-sister to King's Stand Stakes winner Profitable. Failed badly to meet expectations when ninth of 10 at Salisbury on debut in July 2025. Off since but he's in top hands.
Blue Boy Junior (IRE)
€12,000 yearling, £80,000 2-y-o, Space Blues gelding. Matched debut form when fourth again at Carlisle in May (7f). Step up to 1m is in his favour and he has a bigger performance in him.
Jetpack Jimmy
Tenth of 11 in novice at Newcastle (7f, 66/1) on debut 51 days ago.
Mercantile
Night of Thunder gelding. Half-brother to useful 1¼m-11.5f winner Theory of Tides and 7f winner Regalian. Newcomer for respected connections.
Salvezza
€36,000 2-y-o, Lucky Vega colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including German 1¼m winner Sayulita and French 13f-14.4f winner Idaten. Dam, French 1m winner who stayed 1¼m, half-sister to smart 2-y-o 7f winner Salve Del Rio. Too green to show true worth on last month's Nottingham debut.
Star Of The Desert (USA)
Picked up for only 2,000 gns earlier in the year but appeared to show plenty of ability when 50/1 second of 13 on C&D debut in June. Unable to repeat that form on turf a month later.
Wyvill
Looks a long-term project.
Regal Desire (FR)
Bargain buy at 1,000 gns given she was runner-up on debut over C&D in May before looking unlucky not to go one better at Beverley last time. Third on latter occasion successful since so she can make her presence felt again.
