Timeform View

NIGHT SHINING has been found a good opportunity and will surely be priced accordingly. Star Noir looks the most likely to cause an upset.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Night Shining traded at a low of 1.50 and Betfair SP of 1.84 when losing last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Star Noir
Fair sort who was twice a runner-up in maiden/novice company as a juvenile. Stepped forward from his reappearance when well-backed fourth of 6 at Newcastle, beaten 1¾ lengths having found less than looked likely. Probably the main danger to Night Shining if returning from 11 weeks off in top form.
Top Lad
Fair placed form as a juvenile. Offered little either start in 7f handicaps this year. Leap of faith required back in a maiden over the minimum trip.
Rocktoun Heart (IRE)
Rock of Gibraltar filly. Dam, 5f-6f winner, out of Argentinian Group 1 7f winner Valery Lady, from a very good South American family. Rare newcomer for yard. Hard to be confident on belated debut.
Miss Tino
Buratino filly. Half-sister to several winners, including smart 5f-6f winner Intrinsic Bond and 6f-7f winner Billy Wedge. Dam unraced. Some pedigree appeal but more likely to make her mark later on.
Night Shining (IRE)
475,000 gns purchase. Steadily progressive first 4 starts. Had every chance in first-time tongue strap when close third of 5 in a maiden at Windsor latest. Should be able to land the odds this time.
Preferred
Offered something to work on behind a couple of next-time-out winners on debut at Chelmsford. Didn't progress or look an easy ride when third at Wolverhampton later in January. First-time hood/drop in trip both sensible moves but has been off for 6 months prior to this first run on turf.
