Timeform View

MEN OF HONOUR is potentially well treated on his Irish form. He could be worth chancing in an open-looking sprint, especially if the market speaks in his favour following a breathing operation. Irish Nectar is lurking on a dangerous mark and could capitalise if enough rain arrives, while the Paul Midgley pair both make appeal.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Men Of Honour traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP 3 times on 4 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Farandaway (IRE)
Reliable sort who won a 6f Newcastle maiden in March and 7f Thirsk handicap in July. Held (having been well backed) when suffering the worst of the interference in a competitive race for the grade at Haydock latest. Should give his running back sprinting.
Bonnie's Boy
Best form to date has come on the all-weather, getting off the mark at Newcastle (5f) in October. Backed at long odds when 3½ lengths fourth of 21 at York on just his second start of the summer last time. Needs considering with that form working out well.
Rotokura Belle
Dual winner over minimum trip in 3-y-o handicaps this year. Returned to form when close third at York prior to failing to justify her market position at Thirsk last time. Only her second try over 6f and eases slightly in grade here.
Irish Nectar
Trio of wins to date have come on soft/heavy ground. Mixed it in higher grades for Kevin Ryan last year and is in better heart than recent form figures might suggest. Interesting off a slipping mark, especially if the worst of the rain arrives.
Marajito
Course winner whose best effort this year came when successful in a Ripon handicap in late-May. Only bettered by an improving 3-y-o on return to that venue last time, having been caught a little wider than ideal. Could be competitive off an unchanged mark.
Cairdeas
Hit-and-miss performer. Bumped into a now-useful one when second on reappearance and filled the same position at Nottingham (6f) in June. Wasn't quite in the same form when 3¼ lengths fourth on the all-weather latest but may do better back on turf.
Come On Over (IRE)
Showed a good attitude under a positive ride to get off the mark here at Doncaster in early-July (runner-up scoring next time). Back to form when 2¼ lengths fourth on return to that track last time, though contests a slightly better race here.
Magistery (IRE)
Made all to win 6f Carlisle handicap (soft) last season. Plenty to prove having failed to beat a rival either start this year, though.
Men Of Honour (IRE)
Lightly raced for a 4-y-o. Ended time with Andrew Slattery with a creditable fourth of 16 on handicap debut in October. Largely ignored in the betting 4 starts for current yard. Potentially well treated on Irish form and interested if supported returning from a breathing operation/7-week break.
Speeding Bullet (IRE)
Now 5 lb lower than when successful at Pontefract last June. Bumped into a now-smart one final start last season. Best effort of this year when only beaten 2¾ lengths following another slow start at Beverley latest. Appeals with Jason Hart taking over, especially if supported.
