SO GRATEFUL has been knocking firmly on the door and can gain deserved compensation. Class-dropper Opal Storm also needs considering in a wide-open sprint, while Wee Mary could make a bold bid from a handy draw.

Timeform Comments

Opal Storm
Proved as good as ever to notch a second win of the season at Beverley last month, finishing with good effect to beat a subsequent winner a shade cosily. Excuses both starts since and now quickly finds herself back on her latest winning mark on return to Class 6 company.
Wee Mary (IRE)
Best recent efforts have come when making the running, including her C&D success in early-June. Dropped 2 lb having been unable to get to the lead over C&D last time. Could do better back in a 0-55 under Paul Mulrennan, with a useful-looking draw to boot.
Sands Of Seve
Hit-and-miss performer whose sole success came in a first-time visor on all-weather for Robert Cowell in March. Back on track when going close over C&D on first start for present yard. Things haven't gone to plan either start since and capable if settling/on a going day.
So Grateful
Won twice off higher marks last year. Runner-up for the third consecutive start when again touched off by an in-form rival at Yarmouth (6f) last time. Slight ease in grade can see him go one better.
Sixcor
Notched a fifth course win at Ayr (5f) last month. Has been competitive off this sort of mark but turned in a lesser effort on return to Ayr (6f) last time.
Gwen Tennyson (IRE)
Attracted support when running her best race from out of the blue to finish a 1-length second at Catterick earlier this month. Possibly found the race coming too soon when below that form at Redcar and has been given a bit more time between races here.
Royal Duke
Has fallen a long way in the weights since winning over C&D this time last year. Hasn't been seen to best effect in a couple of starts at Ayr recently. Stall 1 isn't ideal but still worth a look back in a 0-55 sporting a first-time tongue strap.
Ski Angel
Free-going C&D winner. Unlucky not to win in this grade at Wetherby prior to finishing third behind a couple producing their best efforts at Ayr (5f) later in June. Below form since but not discounted if cheekpieces (on for the first time in a while) have the desired effect.
Lady Bouquet
Winner off 2 lb higher on all-weather last winter. Had been holding her form reasonably well in turf handicaps prior to a forgivable effort off a quick turnaround at Ripon last time. Has been freshened up and Kevin Stott a positive jockey booking on return.
Breeze Star (IRE)
Little solid form for previous yard. Leap of faith required on stable debut.
