Timeform View

Ed Bethell is enjoying an excellent August and AMBER HAMUR can provide him with another winner and complete a hat-trick of her own. Trucial Pearl remains nicely handicapped on the form of her Ripon win and is feared most ahead of Vitality, who has often proved a bit too headstrong for her own good since a good run at Epsom in the spring but Danny Tudhope could be the man to settle her.

Timeform Comments

Amber Hamur (IRE)
Failed to win for George Boughey but thriving for Ed Bethell, winning around 1m at Hamilton and Ripon (both good to firm) this summer. A further 5 lb rise doesn't look enough to prevent the hat-trick for her in-form stable.
Vitality (IRE)
Best effort when second in 8.5f novice at Epsom in April. Hasn't come close to reproducing that level since, including 3 handicaps, but this is her first Class 6 and Danny Tudhope is a good booking.
Only Dream Big
Improved for switch to more positive tactics with back-to-back wins at Redcar (7f) and this venue (1m) in June. Best effort since when close third of 7 at Carlisle (7f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Same mark today but stamina an unknown over the longest trip she's tackled.
Horwich
Free-going sort who won his first 2 starts for Clive Cox at the turn of the year but has largely struggled in handicaps since joining Ruth Carr.
Balmoral Boy (IRE)
Ran his best race when second of 7 in handicap at Ripon 4 weeks ago, looking suited by the step up to 1¼m. Likely to be on the premises again.
Positive Thoughts (IRE)
Ran up to best when third of 6 in handicap at Hamilton last month but 2 lesser efforts have followed, including in blinkers latest.
Dalamara
Won over 1m on all-weather last December and mostly creditable efforts in defeat this year, including fourth of 8 at Redcar (1m, good to firm) 17 days ago. First-time cheekpieces won't need to give her too much more.
Trucial Pearl
Upped her game when off the mark in 1m Ripon handicap in June, seeing off one who won his next 2 starts. Shaped as if still in form when fourth of 13 in 1m Thirsk classified event since. Respected.
