Timeform View

HERETIC is drawn widest but should still prove capable of defying a penalty for winning over 1m here 11 days ago. Dumfries shaped as if back in form at Beverley last time and is also considered, alongside Turbo Command, who has a good record at C&D.

Timeform Comments

Heretic (IRE)
Came in for a well-judged ride and capitalised on a reduced mark when comfortably winning a 13-runner handicap at this course (1m) 11 days ago. Makes plenty of appeal under a penalty.
Dumfries
Had edged back to his last winning mark and hinted at a revival when fourth of 10 in handicap at Beverley (8.5f, good) 14 days ago, shaping as if somewhat stretched by the trip. Down another 1 lb and drops back in distance, so could well build on that previous effort.
Mereside Madness (IRE)
Won over 7f at Thirsk last summer for David & Nicola Barron but below par since, including in 5 runs for current yard this season.
Captain Pickles (IRE)
Had a productive start to the year with 3 all-weather successes but arrives on the back of 2 below-par efforts, including back on all-weather at Wolverhampton 4 weeks ago. Has to bounce back.
Lord Abama (IRE)
Below form since finishing runner-up at Redcar this time last year and others are preferred despite much-reduced mark. Cheekpieces go back on.
Beaming Light
It's now 18 runs since last win in 2025, though was in the frame at Wolverhampton on his penultimate outings. Merely passed beaten rivals into seventh of 12 in handicap there (7f) 28 days ago, though.
Turbo Command (IRE)
Three-time C&D winner who was placed at C&D on his 2 most recent starts back in May. Off for 98 days since but holds claims if ready to roll after a break.
Pink Socks (IRE)
Completed an all-weather hat-trick in classified company for Ian Williams in January (twice here, including over this trip). Yet to fire in 5 starts for this yard, though.
Cable Beach
In good form since winning at C&D in November, pulling clear with a trio that raced ahead of him when fourth of 13 in handicap at Newcastle (1m, 11/2) 63 days ago. Respected.
Captain Kinsella
Seems to have lost his way this season and he's hard to fancy over this longer trip.
