It might be worth taking a chance that DEEP SLEEP is yet another that James Owen works his magic on. This 3-y-o is much less exposed than most of today's opposition and confidence in his chance would increase should the betting vibes be strong. Fellow 3-y-os Jungle Knight, Hatamoto and Harswell River head the dangers.

Timeform Comments

Sandret (IRE)
Revived for this yard last season, including a win in this race. Disappointing in 3 comeback outings in June/July but has dipped to 1 lb below last year's winning mark and no shock were he to stage a revival.
Tees George
Won at Beverley in April and has continued in form this summer, including under Jack Lander. Latest fourth of 8 at Carlisle another creditable effort and likely to be competitive again.
Deep Sleep
Fair maiden for Tim Easterby, including reaching the frame in his first 2 handicaps. Denied a clear run when seventh of 13 at Wetherby (1m) in June. Brings unexposed potential to this first run for excellent James Owen yard. Wears a first-time hood.
Tropez Power (IRE)
Has gone 26 runs without a win. Latest 3¼ lengths sixth of 12 at Ayr (7f, good) was a bit more encouraging but needs to show he can build on it now.
Hatamoto
Front-runner who followed a breakthrough Beverley success with a C&D win in first-time cheekpieces (retained since). Went down only to a progressive sort at Ayr (1m, good) latest and capable of a bold bid from a good draw.
Calaxy (IRE)
All-weather maiden winner in October 2024 but has largely struggled in handicaps since. Has left Tom Dascombe since last seen in February. The betting is perhaps the best guide to what's expected.
Jungle Knight
Improved effort when getting off the mark in 14-runner Yarmouth handicap (1m, good to soft) in June. Respectable fourth of 9 back there (7f, firm) 8 weeks ago. One of the more likely types taking on largely older opposition.
Suzette
Won at Carlisle for Ollie Pears in 2024 but proved inconsistent and not so good in 2025. No short-term promise on last return for a new yard, either.
Misemerald (IRE)
Arrives in good form, reaching the frame on 5 successive starts before finally snapping her long losing run at Musselburgh (1m, good to firm) on Monday. Placed under Natasha Cookson at Carlisle earlier in the season. Carries a 5 lb penalty.
Dandy's Angel (IRE)
Fourteen runs since last win in 2025. Creditable sixth of 10 in handicap at Beverley (1¼m, good to firm, 6/1) 73 days ago.
Harswell River (IRE)
Sole success came at Redcar (1m) last September. Also placed 4 times there this season. Lesser efforts at Ripon and Beverley the last twice and a near miss on her previous course visit provides hope for a revival.
