PINATIQUE is given a chance to build on a solid comeback run for new trainer Sir Mark Prescott at Newbury a fortnight ago. Sudu is surely better than he showed when strong in the betting for his course reappearance earlier in the month and is second choice ahead of Arrange.

Timeform Comments

Pinatique (FR)
Useful in France for Jean-Claude Rouget. Off 9 months, shaped as if retaining plenty of ability when fourth of 5 in handicap at Newbury (1½m, good to firm) on return for new yard 13 days ago. Could build on that and worth siding with.
Sax Appeal
Successful 8 times on all-weather and he ran right up to his best in refitted blinkers when third in Northumberland Vase at Newcastle (2m) in June. Probably went off too hard when distant third at Southwell 8 days later but overall record on turf suggests it's best to look elsewhere.
Sudu
Strong traveller who scored by a wide-margin at Epsom (1½m, good to firm) last summer. Strong in the market but last of 6 on 1½m course reappearance in a first-time hood 3 weeks ago. The hood is quickly removed and no surprise were he to bounce back to form with a bang.
Talismans Time
Successful twice at Hamilton last year. Bit of a mixed record since, beaten 9 lengths into fourth at Carlisle (1¾m, good to firm) latest. Hardly a solid one but the Ed Bethell stable is in excellent form.
Mick Collins (IRE)
Fairly useful dual-purpose performer for Noel Meade in Ireland. Shaped as if better for the run when seventh of 13 in handicap at Newcastle on yard debut 5 weeks ago.
Hamadhan (IRE)
Fair maiden for Johnny Murtagh last summer. Similar form in 3 outings for new yard in May. Up in trip back from a break (gelded) having been cut a bit of slack by the handicapper. One to note in the betting.
Arrange (IRE)
0-14 since a 2m Haydock success in August 2024 but recent efforts have been creditable and being eased another 1 lb can only help.
