This looks a good renewal. ROCK MONTREAL created a very good impression on his recent Yarmouth debut and gets a narrow vote over Sonic Angel, who looks another highly talented juvenile for the Crisford yard. Easy York scorer Mia Fantasia and Breacher complete the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Alfred Wallace
Proving better than ever under a cool ride when resuming winning ways in Ascot listed race (7f, good to firm) in July and creditable 3½ lengths fourth of 10 to Haffner in Group 3 Acomb at York (7f, good) 10 days ago.
Breacher
12/1, won 8-runner maiden (12/1) at Salisbury (7f, good) on debut in June, forging clear. More to come and whilst this understandably tougher, this stiffer track promises to suit.
Dover Street (IRE)
Persian Force colt who stepped up on his debut when 2 lengths second of 14 in valuable Convivial maiden at York (7f, good to soft) but this looks a tough ask turned out again quickly.
Firehorse (IRE)
Won 10-runner maiden at Kempton (6f) on debut in June. Left that bare form behind when 3¼ lengths fifth of 10 to Alfred Wallace in listed race at Ascot (7f, good to firm) in July but well held in similar company at Salisbury since. Hooded first time. Hard to make a case for.
Green Sovereign
Scored easily in a 6f Pontefract maiden in May but his limitations have seemingly been exposed at listed/Group level since.
Kodiac City (IRE)
Kodiac gelding who made a winning start to his career in 1m Southwell maiden 23 days ago but this represents a big step up in class.
Mia Fantasia (IRE)
Got no luck when all the rage in the betting for a Glorious Goodwood nursery but made no mistake in a similar race at last week's York Ebor meeting, blowing apart what looked a competitive race. Definitely more to come.
Rock Montreal (IRE)
1,000,000 gns yearling who looked potentially smart when landing short odds on his 7f Yarmouth debut (good to firm) 15 days ago. The ease of that success suggests he can cope with this steep rise in grade.
Sergei Diaghilev (IRE)
Only ninth in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot (6f) in June but different proposition when stepped up to 1m at Gowran since, seeing off 5 rivals in a good-ground listed race. Back down in trip. Should be more to come. NON RUNNER.
Sonic Angel
2-2 in all-weather novices, latterly easily defying a penalty over this trip at Kempton. Looks more than good enough to make his presence felt in this higher grade.
