Dual winner on all-weather earlier this year who proved he was just as good on turf when fourth of 27 in handicap at this course (6f, good to firm) 28 days ago, finishing with running left. Not taken lightly.
Fondo Blanco
Progressive at 3 yrs, winning at Haydock before good fourth in listed company at Nottingham. Yet to fire in a couple of outings this term, though.
Pellitory
Useful 3-time 7f winner for James Owen who opened account for current yard when landing 6-runner handicap at Haydock (7f, good to firm) 21 days ago. This looks tougher but he warrants respect.
Addison Grey
Consistent sort who scored twice in 2025 and opened account for this year when taking 8-runner handicap at Newbury (7f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Raised 4 lb since but could be a player here.
Forty Years On (IRE)
Proved most progressive on her debut season last year, completing the hat-trick at Ascot in September. Improved again when winning 15-runner handicap at Newbury (7f, good to soft) in June and likely has more to offer yet.
The Fingal Raven (IRE)
Scored over 1m at Meydan in January and back on track with third of 20 in handicap at Goodwood (7f, good to firm) 24 days ago, especially as didn't enjoy a clear passage. One to consider despite high draw.
Galeron (IRE)
On a lengthy losing run and rather went backwards from reappearance at Doncaster in June. Others preferred.
Ghost Mode (IRE)
Made winning return at Southwell in March and got back on the scoreboard when winning 13-runner handicap over C&D (good to firm) 28 days ago by 1¼ lengths from Ironwill. That was an improved effort and he remains feasibly treated.
Aalto (FR)
Back to winning ways in Bunbury Cup last month and backed that up with creditable third of 16 in handicap at Ascot (7f, good to firm, 14/1) 35 days ago, caught further back than ideal. Not out of things.
Carnival Of Light
Dual winner at Wolverhampton last month but yet to prove her effectiveness on turf and was well held at York last time.
Darkness (FR)
C&D who has yet to find his best form this season. However, is now below last winning mark and shaped well over a longer trip here last month.
Rhoscolyn
Three-time C&D winner who has been cut plenty of slack by the handicapper but has finished nearer last than first in a handful of starts this term. Others easier to enthuse over.
Leadman
Quirky sort who capitalised on a much-reduced mark when winning 7f handicap at Doncaster in June. Been a mixed bag since but is worth monitoring in market on debut for new yard.
Rare Change (IRE)
Returned to form to win an 8-runner handicap over C&D (soft) in June but not been in quite same form since, merely closing up late over shorter trip at Pontefract latest. Others more appealing.
Ironwill (IRE)
Headstrong sort who landed the third win of his career when getting up in the final strides at Newmarket in June and bettered that form when second of 13 in C&D handicap last month. Likely stamina stretched at York since and is not discounted here.
