Timeform View

METHGAL got right back to his best on just his second outing for new connections when doubling his tally at Windsor recently and, completely unexposed over sprint trips, Dylan Cunha's 4-y-o looks up to defying a 4 lb rise in the weights. Von Krolock upped his game when scoring at Lingfield 12 days ago, so he rates as the main danger, with Insuspense and My Mate Kev rounding off the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Noble Guest
Dual winner over 7f last season but not showing sufficient enthusiasm to take advantage of a slipping mark this campaign, including when dropped into the lowest grade he's contested here (7f) last month. Hopes pinned on a return to 6f.
Sam's Xpress (IRE)
Won 4 times on all-weather in second half of 2025. Also started 2026 with some creditable efforts but hasn't shown enough back on turf in recent months to be too positive here, bringing up the rear in 3 of his last 4 starts. Given a chance by the assessor.
Von Krolock (IRE)
Yet to win on turf (went close when trained in Ireland) but added a third success of the year to his tally in 8-runner event at Lingfield 12 days ago by 2¼ lengths from My Mate Kev. 7 lb higher here but every chance he will be in the shake-up returned to turf.
Methgal (IRE)
Got right back to his best on just second start for current yard when winning 11-runner event at Windsor (6f, firm) 17 days ago, his usual blinkers going back on seeming to have a positive effect on his first try at a sprint trip. Just 4 lb higher here and a follow-up looks on the cards.
Insuspense
Maiden who finished runner-up for the fifth successive start on the all-weather at Southwell in March. Tricky customer but wasn't seen to best effect for a second start running when fifth of 10 at Goodwood (6f, good to soft) 3 months ago. Has moved yards since and is down to a career-low mark.
Court Drive (IRE)
Scored over C&D in June and shaped as if still in good form on her next couple of starts. Never involved having blown the start back in blinkers at Southwell (6f) earlier in the month so could well bounce back returned to turf.
Danger Alert
Respectable fourth at Windsor on reappearance in May but went backwards there 12 days later and his long losing run (stretching back to 2023) is another negative. Has since switched yards and first-time eyeshields are the headgear of choice ahead of this return.
Deadline (FR)
Kameko gelding who was very easy to back and shaped better than the distance beaten suggests on handicap debut when fourth of 11 at Windsor (6f, firm) 17 days ago, the only one to make any sort of impact from the rear. The least exposed of these, he's worth keeping an eye on.
Woolridge
Still a maiden but runner-up 3 times for previous connections on the all-weather in Ireland. Turned in his best effort for current yard when third at Newcastle in May but not so good the last twice. His wait for a first success looks set to continue.
My Mate Kev
Successful from a much higher mark at Newmarket last spring but largely disappointing since. Had a second breathing operation/off 3 months and turned in best effort of the campaign when second of 8 to Von Krolock at Lingfield (6f) recently and not out of things back on turf.
Kyoto (IRE)
Lightly-raced 4-y-o who made an encouraging start in handicaps with fifth at Southwell (6f) in May but failed to build on it when occupying same position over C&D since. Not written off.
