Timeform View

SILCA BAY has taken his form up a notch this season, making it 2 wins from 3 starts when successful at Newmarket in July, and he can add to his tally having not been seen to best effect last time. Inspired arrives in good heart and could be the main danger, ahead of Rhoscolyn if he takes up this engagement.

Timeform Comments

Swing Vote
Smart performer at his best, recording a hat-trick at Jebel Ali in 2023/24. However, he's finished no better than mid-field in 3 starts since returning from a 15-month absence, never really threatening in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot. Cheekpieces now added.
Godwinson
Winner of this race in 2024 and successful on his first 2 outings last year when trained by William Haggas, including the Lincoln on reappearance. Yet to fire in 3 starts for current yard, though, slowly away when tenth of 18 in the Golden Mile here last time.
Principality (IRE)
Successful over C&D last summer and got back to winning ways at Nottingham in May. Added to his tally at Newmarket 16 days ago and he's not dismissed lightly, even allowing for the fact that he was well placed on the best ground last time.
Real Gain (IRE)
Hasn't stood much racing in recent years, making only his third start for current yard this season when 3¼ lengths eighth of 15 in handicap here (9f) early this month. Easing in the weights but it's now nearly 3 years since his last success. Cheekpieces reached for.
Oliver Show (IRE)
Losing run is mounting up but has made the frame at this course (7f) on his last 2 starts, having every chance when carrying his head awkwardly. Needs things to drop right.
Rhoscolyn
Six-time course winner with his latest success in last year's Golden Mile. Yet to get his head in front this season but hasn't been seen to best effect on several occasions, also well suited by softer conditions. Interesting from his reduced mark. Engaged 2.00 at this course on Saturday.
Rainbow Nebula (FR)
Got back on the up when winning at Redcar in May. Not discredited on next 3 outings, but found the John Smith's Cup at York (10.5f) too competitive before running poorly at the same course 8 days ago.
Masked Warrior
In first-time cheekpieces, showed improved form when opening account in novice at Kempton (7f) in May. Hasn't built on that in a pair of handicaps since but has had excuses, not ideally placed when fourth of 5 at Ripon (1m) 5 weeks ago.
Drifts Away
With cheekpieces applied, produced a career-best effort when winning at Yarmouth last month. Didn't need to improve when following up under a penalty at Newmarket 8 days later, but he can continue to give a good account in his current form.
Silca Bay
Winner over C&D in June and overcame pace bias when also scoring at Newmarket last month. Met trouble in running when fifth of 9 at Brighton 25 days ago, so he's well worth another chance back at this venue.
Inspired (IRE)
Gained a first handicap success at Hamilton last month and ran at least as well upped to this grade when second at Haydock 22 days ago, beaten only by another thriving rival. Can make his presence felt.
