Timeform View

A case can be made for several but preference is for the lightly raced MISS NIGHTCAP to resume winning ways back in handicap company. Course specialist Zen Diva rates a major danger despite a significant hike in the weights, with Havana Pusey also in the mix for the places.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

There is a chance of a pace burnout early, and Angel Shared is one who could suffer as a result: A proliferation of possible pace-forcers could set things up for those coming from further back: Albaydaa is one who may benefit.

Timeform Comments

Havana Pusey
Left her reappearance well behind when taking handicap at Yarmouth (7f) in April before finishing third in Lingfield Group 3. Bounced back to form when runner-up in Newbury handicap 19 days ago. Drops back in trip for the first time this season and has a good chance if she breaks alertly.
Betty Clover
Highly tried since winning a listed race at York as a juvenile (winless since) and has been pitched back into handicap company on last 2 starts. 14/1, 2 lengths sixth of 10 to Arctic Dawn at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) 26 days ago. The handicapper has relented further.
Zen Diva
Recorded 3 wins from 4 starts this year, all by huge margins, latest in 6-runner C&D handicap (good to soft) 13 days ago by 10 lengths from Bintola. The handicapper hasn't taken any chances by raising her 10 lb, though she has to be taken seriously in bid to gain a third C&D success.
Stimulative Trip (FR)
Well-bred filly who overcame trouble in running to make a winning debut at Newbury last summer on sole juvenile outing. Gradually progressed up in grade on first 3 starts this year before underperforming in listed race at Mont-de-Marsan in July. Bit to find at the weights sprinting on handicap bow.
Miss Nightcap
Progressive filly who posted a useful effort when making a successful handicap debut at Leicester (6f, good to firm) in July before facing a stiff task in listed race at Pontefract, racing closer to pace than ideal. Merits consideration back in a handicap with a first-time tongue strap.
Albaydaa (IRE)
Largely progressive type who won 7f Carlisle handicap in May. Not discredited with fifth of 10 in listed race there the following month before finishing mid-field in a York handicap. No surprise to see her bounce back.
Cindy Lou Who
Thrived for this yard last season but has failed to build on a promising reappearance second in listed company at Bath. Has been given further help from the handicapper but needs to show more before becoming of interest.
Fleetwater
Finally gained reward for several creditable efforts when winning 7-runner C&D handicap in June. Wasn't disgraced when eighth of 20 at Goodwood (6f, good to firm) in July, second home in group. May get back on track in this smaller field.
Passing Thought
Took a big step forward when winning on reappearance at Wetherby on handicap debut in April. Found it tougher at Royal Ascot next time and fared no better eased in grade at Musselburgh last time. Others more persuasive.
Angel Shared
Finally stopped the slide when opening her account for the season in 8-runner handicap at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) by ½-length from Shallow 13 days ago. Is still on a handy mark on old form but this is a tougher assignment.
Lyra Lea
Steadily progressive filly who relished the drop back to 7f when doubling her tally in a 3-y-o handicap at Sandown in July. Looked hard ride when sixth of 7 at Newbury (7f, good to firm) last month. More required here.
