Timeform View

Preference is for MUSICAL SOLDIER, who went like the best horse at the weights when runner-up in his bid for a 4-timer at Lingfield last week. He can quickly resume winning ways, though Dandy G Boy is respected back on all-weather and Penfolds Grange could go well having not been seen to best effect on his latest outing.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Bundok traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on 3 of its last 5 starts: Jersey Maverick traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 25% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Rey De La Batalla
Dual winner over 1m at this course. However, he ended 2025 with a below-par run at Lingfield and hasn't fared much better in 2 outings this year, down the field here (1m) when last seen in March.
Jersey Maverick (IRE)
Sole success came at Epsom last summer but placed on 3 occasions this year. However, she turned in a below-par effort when well beaten at Newmarket 25 days ago, so bounce back called for with widest draw to overcome.
Tasdeed (FR)
Lightly raced for his age and hasn't gone with much promise in 2 starts for present stable this year, tried in cheekpieces when well held at this course (1m) in April. Absent since with blinkers reapplied and tongue strap added.
Bold Suitor
Benefited from a good ride when winning narrowly at Lingfield (7f) in April. Hasn't been in the same form since, making a rare start on turf nowadays he went off too hard when mid-field at Ascot (1m) 5 days ago. Others preferred.
Moon Beginnings (IRE)
Successful at Chester (7f) on debut a year ago but hasn't gone on in handicaps, finishing down the field tried in eyeshields (now discarded) at the same course the last twice. Has enough to prove at the moment.
Sargent Dennis (IRE)
Runner-up in 6f maiden here in May before getting off the mark in a Windsor novice. Hasn't found any progress in a trio of handicaps, though took a step back in the right direction when fourth of 9 at Windsor 11 days ago. Needs to build on latest effort up in trip.
Penfolds Grange
Still looking for a first handicap success but has found his feet for current yard with a trio of placed efforts over 1m here this year. Shaped as if back in form when seventh of 11 at Lingfield (7f) 5 weeks ago when denied a clear run. Can give a good account.
Dandy G Boy (IRE)
Successful twice on all-weather last year, including over C&D in October, and belatedly proved himself on turf when second of 6 at Brighton (1m) last month. Not taken lightly as he returns to an artificial surface.
Mojito
Left previous efforts behind when making a winning handicap/seasonal debut at Doncaster (7f) in April. However, she hasn't gone on from that effort in 3 subsequent outings, seventh of 14 at this course (1m) a month ago.
Bundok
Ran creditably on handicap debut when third at Goodwood (6f) in June, before not being seen to best effect when fifth of 6 over this C&D 7 days ago, left poorly placed and meeting trouble. Could yet do better with Oisin Murphy on board for the first time.
Musical Soldier (IRE)
Progressing well since fitted with cheekpieces, completing a hat-trick in comfortable fashion at Lingfield (7f) last month. Shaped best under a penalty when second of 5 at the same course (1m) 8 days ago and he looks to hold strong claims back down in trip.
Seeing Stars
Landed a C&D maiden in January and made a solid start in handicaps with a trio of in-frame efforts. However, has now shaped as if amiss in 2 of her last 3 races, well held at Newmarket 19 days ago.
Upsomdowns
Settled better under more patient tactics and produced his best effort when second of 6 on handicap debut at Lingfield (1m) in January. After 4 months off, ran poorly switched to turf at Windsor in May but has been absent again since.
Divine Wish
Showed fair form in 2 maidens over C&D to start this year and ran to a similar level when fourth of 12 on handicap debut here in May. Off since but could still have more to offer.
