Dual point winner disappointed in 3 starts over fences earlier this summer. Signs of a revival under considerate handling when sixth of 15 in handicap hurdle here (23f) 22 days ago and it'll be interesting to see whether he can build on that back over fences in cheekpieces and first-time hood.
Swingforthefence (IRE)
Made no impact in maiden/novice hurdles and fitting of cheekpieces failed to improve matters switched to handicaps in the spring. Unseated rider at the first on his return from a 4-month break last time. Will need to improve for switch to chasing.
Broadway Honey (IRE)
Showed a bit in maiden/novice hurdles but failed to make a serious impression in 4 outings in handicap hurdles, jumping less than fluently on a couple of occasions. Others preferred now chasing after 99-day break.
Izzy's Grey (IRE)
Is 0-16 over hurdles but went close to making a winning start in this sphere at Uttoxeter (3m) in June, some wayward jumping in the closing stages proving costly. Not in the same form when down the field there 11 days later, though.
Jo Arengeot Bey Aa (FR)
Belatedly opened his account under Rules in a Uttoxeter novice handicap in May. Quickly back to form when second there in July and shaped as if still in good heart despite a mixed round of jumping when third of 7 at Sedgefield (3¼m, good to firm) 13 days ago. This stronger headgear should suit.
Man Oh Man (IRE)
Finished ahead of a couple of next-time-out winners when going close to breaking his duck over hurdles at Newton Abbot (2¼m) in late-June and was back to form when beaten just a length in a 6-runner event there (3¼m, good to firm) 14 days ago. Overall record is patchy but place claims on chase debut
