CRAFTY GAEL hasn't been long with the Olly Murphy yard, and he may well go one better than at this course last month. Forest Spirit is a big danger if she stays, while it's hard to rule out C&D winner Brionywells in her current vein of form.

Timeform Comments

Daaris (IRE)
Hasn't looked in much form this summer, latterly on belated return to hurdles at Sedgefield (17f). Significant step up in trip (fair stayer at his best on Flat) at least offers some hope of a revival.
Crafty Gael (IRE)
Ex-Irish recruit who again did all his best work at the finish behind a next-time-out winner here (2½m) last time. Step up in trip should suit, and he's taken to get off the mark on just his third start for the excellent Olly Murphy team.
Brionywells
Completed the first leg of a double when successful over C&D on return in May. Still in good heart when 12½ lengths third (behind a dominant Skelton improver) at Stratford (2¾m) latest. Expected to give another good account here.
Butchers Bill
Well below his Irish form in 5 starts for current connections. Plenty to prove returning from 3 months off.
Forest Spirit (IRE)
Fair middle-distance winner on the Flat. Hasn't hit those heights over hurdles, though ran one of her better races when 3¾ lengths third (possibly unlucky not to finish closer) over 2½m here latest. Looks worth another go over this sort of trip and rates a serious danger if she stays.
Athena's Dream
Error-prone maiden who has run to a fairly consistent level in staying handicaps. No match for an eased-down winner when 10 lengths second of 5 at Fontwell (3¼m) latest. Change of headgear will need to sharpen up her jumping, if she's to be in the shake-up here.
Could Be You (IRE)
Placed both starts in Irish points. Set to fare no better than on handicap/stable debut when falling in 2½m handicap here on return (had breathing operation in interim). At least warrants a market check stepping up in trip on just his third start for capable yard.
French Diablo (FR)
Lightly-raced 4-y-o. Form of July's breakthrough success at Stratford (2¾m) hasn't worked out, and he ran badly when bidding to follow up there 16 days ago.
Ramaah
Fair all-weather winner. Change of headgear has been the catalyst for his best couple of hurdle runs, travelling as well as any when 2¼ lengths third at Market Rasen (23f) 10 weeks ago. Needs more again in a better race here, though.
Tis But A Scratch
Long-standing maiden. Followed one of his better efforts with a bad one at Uttoxeter in May last year. Easy enough to swerve on return from 16-month absence.
Alex The Great (IRE)
Made little impact in this sphere, failing to last home on second handicap hurdle start at Stratford (2¾m) in June. Has again looked regressive on Flat since.
